TARDWATCH BLOG REVEALS!

These were the Illegal Prime Minister Mahedra Chaudary's words to the Indian Government about Fiji and the Indigenous Fijians:

“The average Indian in Fiji is struggling. Currently we have an administration who is friendly to the Indian populace and will provide them protection. However the indigenous population is very hostile and violence is inevitable. No one can trust the chiefs but to ensure the survival of the Indians, we need all the help

from you.”

and he adds,

"The Fijian is not of the correct frame of mind to run their own affairs. Their immaturity at running a country and business requires a guiding hand in the form of strong leadership such as of the military.”

This is an insult to the indigenous population of this country. The truth has now come out!

What are the indigenous going to do about this? Ex Fiji Tourist and the authors of Solivakasama Blog have suggested that we all rise up and protest peacefully against this regime. I am inclined to believe that this will be the only way that the voice of the indigenous can be heard. Non violence is the key!

OHHHH MY ACHY BREAKY HEART!

In todays edition of the Fiji Times we read:

"TUI Ba Ratu Sairusi Nagagavoka says he will not speak against his "beta" Mahendra Chaudhry after The Fiji Times identified the interim Finance Minister as the one accused of not paying his taxes when due.
Ratu Sairusi said he was closely associated to Mr Chaudhry to make a comment.
"He's my beta (son) and I will not comment on it," he said.
Ratu Sairusi was surprised when told of the contents of the articles in The Fiji Times.
"Oh is it him? I can't say anything on that.
"He's my beta and he calls me kaka."
Ratu Sairusi said he would always be grateful to Mr Chaudhry for assisting him whenever he was in need like when the chiefly house in Sorokoba was built with the assistance from foreign aid during Mr Chaudhry's term as Prime Minister.
"He arranged for about $175,000 grant from Taiwan, which was directed towards this house," he said."

Here is a native and a chief at that , that calls, Fiji's Public Enemy No.1 his "son" or "child"

Fiji's Public Enemy No.1 arranged for a substantial grant from Taiwan to assist this native in building his palace in Ba.Not thats it's a bad thing....quite a loving gesture from a conniving, sly fox who found a way to buy the heart of moneyless natives. Come to think of it, i'm needing a house myself....maybe i could go up and ask him to get me another Taiwanese loan to build me my own palace....???!!!

But this love relationship between 'beta' MPC Fiji's Public Enemy No.1 and his blinded by $$$

'kaka' from Ba was not really a love realtionship......it can be likened to a relationship between Count Dracula and his hapless victim. The victim was mersmerised by the Count's handsomeness and suavness......but she didnt count on his blood sucking fangs. By the time she was aware of it, the Count had all his fangs on her throat....sucking out the very life out her .

An excerpt from TardWatch Blog reveals the following,"

I have read some of the vitriol that Chaudhary has spouted off against the Fijians while he was in India. You almost shed a tear reading the stuff that has been passed on to me. It really is sickening and the Vanua is been openly mocked and ridiculed. If I was to distribute it to the villagers, they would break down in tears (yes, even grown men)”.

I hope that "TARDWATCH" will make public on his blog the exact vitriol that Fiji's Public Enemy No.1 MPC spouted off in India against us hapless natives. The venerable chief from Ba should be given a copy of what was said so that he can be aware that he is in love with Fiji's Public Enemy No.1., HATER OF THE NATIVE FIJIAN PEOPLE!

DERESERVING OF NATIVE LAND!

Lates Update from Fijitimes Online says as follows:

" A CONSULTANT from India has recommended that all native land in Fiji be dereserved.
The consultant Dr M Krishnamurthi who has been appointed Sugar research Institute of Fiji Board of Director's wrote the report commissioned the by interim Finance and Sugar Minister Mahendra Chaudhry.
It also recommends that 4 hectare farms are uneconomical and that lost of 40 - 400 hectare farms are more viable.
It also recommends that all investments on the farms be carried out by the lessee while the lease periods be at a minimum of 75 years.
Dr Krishnamurthi of Sugarcane Production research and Management Services a company formed in India to fulfill the vacuum in crop production technologies in India and most Asian countries.
Questions have been sent to Mr Chaudhry on the matter of native land derservation."

We are indeed treading on very dangerous ground. MPC said on lasts nights TV interview that landowners and all stakeholders would be consulted on the matter. The ball is quickly shifting courts. How this will all work out will be another matter. What if the landowners disagree? Will they be forced to comply ast the Charter tries to legislate policies concerning the land?

I percieve a very thrilling drama unfolding. The climax is coming up ahead.stay tuned!

The World’s population is 6,602,224,175 (July 2007 est. - the-world-fact book). Fijians number less than half a million at the most (on the entire planet). That approximates to a miniscule fraction of the World’s population – they are an endangered subspecies.
Race is an issue that is a fact of life and cannot be ignored.
Fijians have a right as an endangered people to not feel threatened and to have affirmative policies in place for their survival and betterment (this happens everywhere Maoris, Australian Aborigines, and American Indians). They have been lagging behind for eons, and it has only recently that the new kudos of educated and entrepreneurial ones had success; because they were given the opportunity. They need to help their fellow kind emulate their success. Those that have not been as successful yet, need not be envious of those that had made it, but through hard work and perseverance should reach their goal also. Other races in Fiji need to respect this and nurture this jewel of a race. They are precious and must be protected and supported.
Other races including descendents of Indian Indentured laborers, Melanesians, Polynesians, Europeans/part-Europeans, Chinese etc. who are here by decisions of their ancestors in search of a new home, or brought here by other devious means of their masters, need to feel a sense of identity and belonging and have opportunities available to them so they may also feel equal and accepted. This should not however be at the expense of the Fijians, who by their nature are an accommodating race.
The root of the problem lies in the human race, disastrous characteristics of greed, power, selfishness, jealousy, hatred, envy … an endless list.
Tolerance, understanding, and goodwill are paramount for the different races to live together. First and foremost, the Fijian culture and values must be adopted by all then within it one may practice their own subculture. That’s what gives one the right to call Fiji home.
This change in perception has to come from within not without, and certainly not by force.Anything short of this will see the self destruction of a Nation.
Unfortunately the current administration is widening this divide to the point of no return, yet again by touching another sacred institution of native land, without proper consultations with the owners (who even amongst themselves have many unsettled conflicts).
We must remember “The land has eyes!”"

On an extra note,last nights interview with MPC on TV on the dereservation of Native Land shows that the Illegal Interim Government is treading on very dangerous ground. MPC's attempts to sidestep the issue made him look even more guilty. He made an utter fool of himself. In other words...He lost his cool! Beating around the bush and sidestepping honest, open questions by the TV reporters just makes him look like a criminal. Whatever he wants to do concerning Fijian land, will be to the Fijians, nothing short of a criminal act. He should be prepared to open and honest to the general public about his intentions. he is already implicated as the Minister that evades taxes. THE MAN SHOULD RESIGN!

FIJI LABOUR PARTY DOOMED!

In todays edition of the Fiji Times we read,

"EMERGING Indian political parties are likely to take over the Fiji Labour Party's domain in the next election, says former politician and academic Dr Tupeni Baba.
He said the FLP would have no Fijian support at the next polls, given its affiliation with the People's Charter.
His comment follows a statement from outgoing FLP Nadi president Vijay Prasad last week, who sounded the warning for the party.
"Emerging groups apart from the NFP are tipped to win seats that belonged to FLP," Dr Baba said.
He said FLP would pay the price at the polls particularly in winning national and communal seats.
"It's too late for FLP to turn back. The greatest thing the FLP has done is destroy the belief in democracy which the party was regarded for. As a founder of FLP, we knew we stood for democracy."
Dr Baba said FLP's sorry excuse for joining the interim Government "is the end for them".
Several attempts to reach party spokesperson and President Jokapeci Koroi were futile.
Dr Baba said FLP needed to go underground, regroup and find a new leader in the process if the party was to survive.
"They've not revived the economy and ever since the coup, they've been on a witch hunt, pushing Fijians out of office. They'll never be forgotten for that."
Quoting the late Dr Timoci Bavadra, Dr Baba said the party was bigger than any individual. The FLP need to rediscover itself and undergo reform as it has wandered from its original philosophy, he said.
"This is a lesson for them. They showed their hand in the military-backed coup and collusion with the military before the coup is apparent. There is no hope of them restoring the cornerstone of the party under the present leadership."
The cornerstone for the party was democracy, social justice and multiracialism, he said.
"Now they can forget attracting Fijian voters which was one of their aims since Bavadra's time. FLP needs to rediscover its origins. FLP has a chance but only after it replaces its leadership."
Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua party national director Peceli Kinivuwai said Mr Prasad's comments was "nice to come from an Indian".
"Every time we say it, we are accused of racial intent. He (Mr Prasad) was bold enough to point out FLP had trampled on institutions dear to the hearts of indigenous Fijians," Mr Kinivuwai said.
"They come in and take our money. Why don't they leave Fijian institutions which are dear to Fijians? They should just do their business and keep away from Fijian institutions. It's unfortunate that Mahendra Chaudhry cannot see that."
Mr Kinivuwai said Mr Chaudhry should tread with care as Mr Prasad was expressing the views of laymen and people on the ground, the grassroots."

The biggest mistake FLP did was to support the People's Charter. If it ever was to gain Fijian support for the party, it should have stayed away from issues that would touch the Fijian psyche. To many Fijians, their land is their life. You touch their land in any way shape of form is to touch the very heart of the Fijian soul. Next to God, Fijian land is second in line of importance. To some, even more important.

Like Dr. Baba said, "It's too late for FLP to turn back."

They have signed their own DEATH WARRANT!

A New Beginning!

Religious pundits have hailed 2008 the Year of a New Beginning! The number 8 signifies this in
Hebrew numerical translations.

In my last post I recounted my dream.....I then spent a month abroad. My spouse and I were horrifed to say the least when we received news that a group of men were taken into custody for an alleged assasination attempt of the PM. All I could say was, well, either there was a genuine
plot to overthrow the regime and just like the post by YELLOW BUCKET said, more than 3/4 of Fiji's population are conspiring to do just that.....my only gripe was......."GUYS......IF YOU WERE PLANNING SOMETHING.........YOU WERE TOO SLOW IN EXECUTING IT.! And if you weren't, THEN WOULD ANOTHER GROUP PLEASE STAND UP AND DO SOMETHING BECAUSE THIS COUNTRY IS HEADING FOR A NEW BEGINNING.....AND IT LOOKS TO ME LIKE WE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE BEGINNINGS OF A SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST STATE........!!!!!

I heard through the coconut wireless that a certain Ministry in Government was handed $20.00 telecards for each Department to use in a month.......imagine that! A governement with NO MONEY!

Then not too long ago I heard from a very reliable source that a certain section of a Department had not received two fortnights pay! WOW......and the negatives are unending.......

Then just a couple of days ago I hear that FNPF is no longer going to assist parents in funding their children's tuition and will only permit the full funding of Form 7 students.......what a tragedy this is.......parents will be affected , students will be affected, Private Schools will be affected.......

The list is endless.........

It has been this way since the coup started. And here we are in our cushy homes and offices blogging away.......it's not right. Something must be done.....blogging has served no real purpose for me other than just venting my frustrations......somethings needs to be done.......some things need to be cleaned up.....if we don't stage an uprising this year.......Fiji will become either a communist state or an Islamic state.....this is not what anyone of us want.......

It's time something was done!

THE DREAM

Dear Readers,

I had a dream last night, it awoke me with a start. I was practically shivering with fear!

I thought I might share it with you on this blog:

I dreamt that I was asking God about Steve Penney's Prophecy and the great disaster that would fall upon the nation after a major sporting team would bring honour to the nation by winning a tournament . In effect these were my words to God:

"Lord, what about Steve Penneys prophecy that there would be a great disaster that would befall the nation? Our rugby team did not win the tournament but brought glory and honour to Your Name! And Lord, they are planning to celebrate this milestone in rugby. What disaster will it be Lord?

Will it be a natural disaster? Will it be a Tsunami Lord?

At this point there was silence and I did not hear the Lord answer or show me anything.

In the dream I kept asking God over and over,

"Please show me Lord, Please tell me, what will befall us Lord so that I may pray about it."

But there was nothing, no response for quite a long time.....only a deathly still blackness . All I could feel was this fear and dread that something terrible was about to unfold.

Then it was like a movie screen opened up before me and this is what I saw,

"It was night time and I was standing at the back gate ( Mead Road side)of the military camp in Nabua. I saw a soldier and a young woman in a very mini lime green dress standing talking together beside the gate. They seemed to be lovers by the close way they stood together. Then, I saw another soldier open the gate and walk towards the other two, the two soldiers began arguing and a heated fight ensued.

The two both had rifles over their shoulders and they got to the point where they both cocked their rifles to shoot each other. The girl was screaming hysterically at them.

Soon a whole bunch (maybe 50 or so) of soldiers gathered at the gate looking at what was going on between the other two soldiers outside the gate.

I then saw what looked like a huge tank coming from the Mead road side and rumble towards where the confrontation was taking place, The man driving the tank or truck like thing seemed to be on a mission to destroy the camp and he smashed head long through gates, almost running down the three who were arguing there.

The truck was speeding so fast, it mowed down some soldiers behind the gate who were watching. I saw the two soldiers who initially started arguing and the girl suddenly jump onto the back of the truck and cling onto the rails for dear life. I do not know whether they were in it together with the truck driver, but it looked to me like it was a setup.

Then like lightening I saw sniper fire aimed at the driver of the tank/truck. It hit him in the head and he died instantly. Then the chaos began. The truck weaved all over the place killing men as it went berserk with a dead driver at the wheel, then crashed into a wall. The soldiers began to shoot at one another and they began falling dead in a heap.....this was near the main gate. Blood and dead bodies were everywhere.

The shooting got worse and more and more men were falling dead.....there were terrible blood curdling screams, the smell of blood and fire everywhere......death was everywhere, there was chaos and pandemonium like I've never seen before.......thats when I awoke with a start, sweating and in great fear...

Is this the great disaster that is about to happen?

Is the World Cup the tournament that Penney prophecied that our team would gain great prominence from and the nation will celebrate or have I really missed it......?

Have we passed by the worst because we've already won the sevens tourney in Hong Kong
or is the worst still yet to come?

Only the future can tell us what the truth is as it unfolds.......!!!!

GOD ALMIGHTY spoke to me in a powerful dream in the month of July in 2006 whilst sleeping on the floor of our bedroom and my wife was sleeping on the bed. In the dream I saw myself standing in the middle of the road beside Bainimarama`s residence on the Nasese end looking up towards the Vatuwaqa Indian Goverment School. As I started to walk slowly up towards the school, something scary and unavoidable happens as I started to lift up my foot in slowly taking my steps towards the hill, fear crept into me suddenly as I saw live electricity wires that usually hanging overheads on street lamp posts were lying on the road, about four if I could remember correctly. I started to proceed with fear and also started to chose where to put my foot one at a time in between gaps of this live wires which were crawling like snakes on the road. The most fearful thing at the same time unbelievable is when I put my foot down on a place where I saw there is no wire only to find that when my foot touched the tarsealed, it was met by a live wire and I can feel the shocking wave of vibrations entering my foot but the miracleous thing is the shock cannot go beyond my ankles or proceed further up through my body. As my spirit settles down to understand that God is trying to tell me something halfway up the hill that I started to ask God what is going on when I came to realise the dangerous things that are happening, only God can do such things as this! As I looked towards the house of Bainimarama I did not see the house or anybody but something spoke to my spirit which I believe is the HOLY GHOST, told me that Bainimarama and two others are being held prisoners in the house as house arrest. I kept on walking up towards the hill to reach the main gate where guards are and where the compound ends to find that there ends also the live electricity wires. I kept on walking towards the Goverment school only to find there was no school or building of any kind so I stood on that mount and asked God than God answered me and said to me in a clear annointed holy voice that said; ‘ MY SON…3THINGS WILL HAPPEN FIRST BEFORE WHAT YOU SEE WILL BE FULFILLED! FIRST WILL BE A HURRICANE AND AFTER THE HURRICANE THE EARTHQUAKE. AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE WILL COME THE TSUNAMI AND AFTER THE TSUNAMI THAN COMES THE REVIVAL! As I stood on top of that mount looking towards the sea only to find green green grass that is so clean only to look at it closer than I found it with shock that it is not grass but corns. No more houses, no more trees, no more buildings, nothing at all, only corns and the only thing that did not change is the road and everything was so shiny and clean that you can feel it as pure and holy just like when God just created the earth. On the other side of where I stood is a trek that we always use in our school days to get home quicker and I was at that side with one of my Pastor namely Rt. Maika Laione so we tried to follow that trek only to find two big trees beside us and as we walked beside it, a landslide took place suddenly and this two trees started to slide down standing as we stood beside it one beside each tree. As the slide stopped, we started to look up and my Pastor spoke to me and said for me to climb up my tree and he on his tree so we can meet on top. We did that and met on top and there in front of us is the road going down to the Stadium, the very road we are using today so I started to go down this road only to find nothing but corns everywhere so greenish, so pure and clean just like when something is being washed properly breathing its air and feeling that presence of holiness is unexplainable. To my surprise as I came close to what used to be FATTYS SHOP that I found a house still standing there with no damage and no sign of life so, I stood there in front of the gate not knowing why and as I asked God, He did not answer me so I left that house with a confusion in my mind of why that house? As I walked towards the Grantham road and started to turned into it that a few things strikes me; first is there is no Stadium or U.S.P. but only the old quarters that were there since the Airforce days and secondly, the Suva Point picnic place has moved inland to where the squatters are living today, that is where the waves are coming to shore and all the debris of the Tsunami are piled up there. No more houses or squatters apart from three houses left there by God and I went inside it spiritually only to find it empty with the houses are halfway drowned inside only but no water outside and the water is grog filling up the houses. I started to walk towards Raiwai and as I came towards Sardar Trading only to find that thi is the only building standing in the area but almost empty and found some people here doing the shopping as the shop is trying to clear everything out to get out of here as quickly as possible. Only a few items left in the shop but still wet and dirty from the aftermath of the Tsunami. I left the place to go towards my home and as I proceed towards the ground to find nothing at all and one of those things that shocked and confuses me is the lost of the churches, even the houses of God are gone. As I stood there on the other side of the road to shockly found my home of all the houses is still standing and I ran towards it and went right inside to find there was no roof and I was so happy because it is always the cry of my heart at ll times to preach the Gospel without anything at all over my head so that God can see me from His throne and be happy! At that moment that I looked up to find that like somebody was sitting there at the throne and was smilling down at me. O how I felt that moment in knowing that God is watching you and also happy for you. Suddenly a thought came to my mind about Suva as what is happening, is it happening too in Suva or only this side of the city, suddenly my spirit was there at the bus stand only to find everything empty and all buildings gone apart from the two buildings which is the market and the bus stand. Here ends my dreams and this is the message in this dream; Twice God spoke to me that early morning in the very same dream and told me to tell it to somebody. The first time I tried to disobey Him but the second time with such strong authority that comes with powerful annointing that I could not resist but at the same time woke my wife up and told her about the dream and told her to tell the church members to get ready, the prophecy I gave in Parliament in 2000 that there will be another coup is about to happen! On that same day my wife was invited to a prayer group somewhere at Samabula and when she returned I asked her about the fellowship and she explained to me everything that happens there and after the fellowship they decided to volunteer to take a paralised woman to her home near U.S.P. and it strikes me about a house that I saw in my dream that was left there. I asked her and she explained everything and I confirmed to her that was the very house I saw in my dream so we went to visit that woman and GOD spoke to me and said;MY SON PROPHESY TO THAT WOMAN THAT AFTER ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENS, I WILL HEAL HER AND SHE WILL WALK AGAIN! So we went there and I did what God told me to do, the very first proof that God is speaking to me and to go back to the starting of my dream about the three things that will happen. First is the hurricane is what happens last year if you remember about the war of words that goes on between the army and the goverment. Words are air but hurts when it is strong and it goes on for a few months and I told my ministry to get ready, when the earthquake happens is that when the army will take over the goverment that it will shake the nation that even some blood will be shed. That my friends is what is happening right now but to warn you that the last one is about to come called the TSUNAMI. I warn you that GOD is not a man to lie as you can see the proof which is happening now so now is the time to repent. JESUS said that ONLY THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE! The TRUTH is to REPENT and REPENTANCE is to FORGIVE and FORGET … the word of God said; ‘FORGIVE AND YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN’, if there is a time to change, this is your best time for GOD is about to visit FIJI to start the LAST REVIVAL before moving towards the whole world. UTOPIA......A LOST CAUSE!

Readers would be mindful to consider what this Government is trying to do.......turn our nation into some kind of wannabe UTOPIAN state. Wikipedia explains it well:

"Utopia (from Greek: "place that does not exist") is a fictional island near the coast of the Atlantic Ocean written about by Sir Thomas More as the fictional character Raphael Hythloday (translated from the Greek as "knowing in trifles") recounts his experiences in his travels to the fictional island with a perfect social, legal, and political system. It may be used pejoratively, to refer to a society that is unrealistic and impossible to realize. It has also been used to describe actual communities founded in attempts to create an ideal society

Utopia is largely based on Plato's Republic. It is a perfect version of Republic wherein the beauties of society reign (eg: equalism and a general pacifist attitude), although its citizens are all ready to fight if need be. The evils of society, eg: poverty and misery, are all removed. It has few laws, no lawyers and rarely sends its citizens to war, but hires mercenaries from among its war-prone neighbors (these mercenaries were deliberately sent into dangerous situations in the hope that the more warlike populations of all surrounding countries will be weeded out, leaving peaceful peoples). The society encourages tolerance of all religions. Some readers have chosen to accept this imaginary society as the realistic blueprint for a working nation, while others have postulated More intended nothing of the sort. Some maintain the position that More's Utopia functions only on the level of a satire, a work intended to reveal more about the England of his time than about an idealistic society. These utopias are based on economics. Most of them formed in response to the harsh economic conditions of the 19th century. Sociocapitalism has been proposed to be a candidate of economic utopia. It uses social policies to correct the weakness of capitalism."

Scary but true. We have a group of people who are secretly, behind the scenes calling the shots and whose one aim is to "correct the weakness of capitalism". This coup reeks so much of Father Barr's and ECREA's socialist policies, which i do believe is one of the reasons for the coup.....the championing the rights of the poor and marginalised, the equalising redistribution of wealth....etc etc......however, their grand aims...no matter how wonderful is just that only an ideal. In order for it to survive, it must have the full mandate of the people. The people need to make a move for revolution. Not a group of idealists who push their own agendas and think they become the almighty spokespeople for the poor and marginalised who do not agree with the way they are pushing for their agendas.

Being a secret but deadly coup supporter will not augur well for these wolves in sheeps clothing.

These are but hirelings who prey on the innocent and less educated ones. They speak peace and equality for all but instead bring a sword of war and blood shed. Is that the utopia they seek?

They might as well wait for pigs to fly.

The only UTOPIA that will be establiched will be GOD"S KINGDOM of RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE & JOY IN THE HOLY GHOST!

I would urge people who are seeking a utpian society.....SALVATION COMES FROM GOD.....HE CAN SAVE YOU OUT OF YOUR MISERABLE LIFESTYLE AND CAUSE YOU TO BE CONTENT WITH YOUR LOT IN LIFE. Jesus Christ has already paid the price of a UTOPIAN SOCIETY for man. When we accept Christ into our lives, we immediately gain entry into Christ's UTOPIAN KINGDOM which is not of this world. Don't push your agendas onto this nation......leave Fiji to be changed and revolutionised by Christs true followers. AMEN!

Before Jesus entered our family home while he was still standing outside, a 9 year old boy saw him and told us that he was seeing a tall man dressed in white standing outside, on the grass. He saw the man twice before he came in and entered the 19 year old girl while she was praying.

PART TWO: How He Visited Us.
She started praising God. She was filled with the Holy Spirit. She was speaking in tongues. She was singing choruses "Welcome Holy Spirit" and "The Joy of the Lord is my Strength". She asked us to open all our HEARTS and welcome God the Holy Spirit to fill us with his Power also. While she was still heated up and sweating, she began to WARFARE by sending the Holy Fire to burn out all the demons and Evil Spirits standing, moving and listening outside our house. We were told to shut all our doors because different spirits travel through the wind that blows towards us. We were being confirmed not to be afraid and not to worry about anything and that nothing bad would happen to us.

He began to WEEP as He spoke to us with the following messages:

At about 12.00 midnight, He stood up and walked around us. He touched our heads and blessed each one of us. He looked up and said, "FATHER". He was lifted up and rose twice and returned to his FATHER and the 19year old girl's body was lying dead on the floor. We all looked up and cried out loud missing his departure, especially the small children's voice were very loud. The girl's soul seemed to re-enter her own body again and she slowly sat up and asked us what had happened. She also asked why we were still looking up and crying out loud. She said she did not know what happened. She said she was playing with the angels on a golden road. We told her the whole story. She tried to hug and comfort her small brothers not to cry.

RIGHT NOW.
. We strongly believe that our Almighty God had assigned this task to our family to receive these chosen vision or message, to spread and send it to all his chosen people especially in Fiji.

LET THE LANDOWNERS DECIDE!

"THE decision by a landowning unit to renew expiring agricultural leases to 15 tenants is commendable.
Members of the Mataqali Tilivalevu, in Tavua, have agreed to renew the native land leases for the farmers using their land.
Mataqali leader Onisivoro Ratu says it is best that the tenants continue using their land instead of letting the land lie idle as some other landowning units around the country have been doing.
But it is important that the decision to renew leases or approve new leases on such native land be left entirely to the landowning units.
It is not in the best interest of anyone that such renewals of leases or the use of native land lying idle be forced upon the clans.
It has to be left to them to make decisions on what they own in particular the sensitive issue of land. Any responsible and wise government will always respect the rights of landowners to make decisions on their land.
The government may only give advice and guidance. And it should be encouraged to extensively educate the landowning units on the benefits they can derive from their land if it is leased out or utilised in some way.
With the support and help of the Native Land Trust Board, these landowning units can be convinced they have much to derive from their land outside the native reserves of course if they agree to put it to good use.
Meanwhile in Tavua, Mr Ratu talks about a strong bond between the clan members and the tenant farmers which had developed and strengthened over the years. Because of this special relationship, he says it is hard for the clan members who have learnt to peacefully co-exist with the tenants and their families to see them leave the land.
The farmers, of course, are grateful to the Mataqali Tilivalevu for the kind gesture. Their leader Jagdishwar Kumar says they are forever indebted to the clan members.
Such special relationship and understanding between tenant farmers and landowning units are not new. They exist in peace and harmony in the rural farming communities assisting each other every day and sharing many things they own.
They seem oblivious to the political haranguing and the continuous exchange of salvo between those who love to use the race card to gain popularity and support.
It is heartening and uplifting that amid the tales of misery and gloom we come across these days as we scan the news, such gestures of kindness and goodwill remind us there is still hope for the future if we choose to be tolerant with and understand each other's culture, faith and way of life.

MR.T CHALLENGES ILLEGAL INTERIM PM!

"A Fiji trade unionist in the spotlight recently has lodged a complaint against a senior minister in the interim administration for a range of offences including alleged abuse of office.

Fiji TV reports that Taniela Tabu has lodged his complaint with the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption and the police as well as the Prime Minister’s Office.

Mr Tabu says he is calling on the interim prime minister to do justice to the country and also comply with the law.
He says the prime minister expects the people to respect the law and that respect should begin from above.

Mr Tabu has not disclosed the name of the interim government minister nor the nature of his evidence.

But he says he has given the evidence and it is up to the authorities to carry out the investigations and act accordingly."

With this new news being brought to the fore it still remains t0 be seen how the Illegal Interim Regime will react.

Will they allow FICAC to investigate the Senior Minister, as Tabu has stated?

Or will, like everything they have done, brush this issue aside, sweep it under the carpet, or bull doze the issues ?

It would be expected that the monster the regime has created will soon turn around and chew the Illegals up and spew them out.

"It was saddening to watch how the mother of Sakiusa Rabaka voice her helplessness in pursing justice against the people responsible for her son's death on SBS television channel program Dateline on August 8.
In the program, an allegation was also made by a woman who was detained at QEB, how during her detainment, some women in her group were pregnant and had made it known to those inducing physical force.
The pregnant women were ignored and treated even more harshly by being stepped on the lower back.
I am certain that for all those who have suffered some form of injustice by mistreatment directly or indirectly at the hands of the RFMF, will one day be able to bring the perpetrators to court, who all seem immune at present.
This will happen when democracy is restored, freedom of speech assured and with the clean-up campaign finished. Time will have no bearing for what goes around will come around and justice will be served. "

CHRISTIANS CALLED TO WAR!

Dear readers, here isanother post which is worth it's salt and food not only for thought but for ACTION , from a blogger whose Fijian name i will translate into english as :

"AN IRRITATING MITE ON THE ILLEGAL INTERIM PM'S PERSON"

....ahem... i have edited some bits....

"Early this morning, I switch onto Bula FM and started listening to the Lotu program. As I reflect on my strict Christian upbringing and what my late father and his generation would have done if this crisis had hit in 1987 instead of 2007.

What mystifies me is the fact that while families are struggling to put bread on the table, the churches have not altered or drop their rates of soli and katini. My Methodist brethren are still going ahead with their annual Koniferedi in Macuata while families get a 5% pay cut, are on strike or overwhelmed by a 7% inflation rate on basic goods and services.

Totally lost from the real world, it appears that the majority of Talatalas, Turaga Betes and Vakavuvulis are so isolated in their ivory towers. They continue diligently in their appeal for more soli while cleverly touching on our guilt of not giving to God what is his rightful share as they preach from the pulpit.

You can hear the same message being bombarded upon us almost on a daily basis on the radio or loud speakers from the suburban churches. Just now I am having my Sunday fish and miti and it has suddenly becomes tasteless as I hear Rev Vili Daunabuna urging the Sunday Schools and Mataveitokani from all over Fiji on Radio Fiji one to send in money for the cost of passage their passage to the Macuata Conference for the mataveitokani and matawilivola delegates.

I am now challenging the church leaders to channel that energy and effort towards telling the flocks that now is the time to rise up against this black cloud of evil that has now engulfed our beautiful country.

As I have written recently on WFC that desperate times call for desperate measures, and it is about time our Talatalas and Turaga Betes, Vakavuvulis, Vakatawas and Qasenilotu start adjusting their preaching and counselling towards the reality that is upon us.

I am getting sick of their ‘head in the sand’ mentality right now where they continue to preach about salvation and more soli while ‘Rome burns’. It is good that they continue to be our conscious but it is time they directed their counselling of our conscious towards doing something for our country and our future because our failures or non action today will effect our generations of tomorrow.

There is no point in calling for restraint and abiding by the law when the so called leaders sitting in power to govern us today continue to blatantly rape our democracy and desecrate our constitution and laws.

Mahendra Chaudary worships idols and so is his off side Vayeshnoi. Muslims like Iqbal, Shahu Khan and the Shameems belong to a religion created by Satan created to pretend that their Allah is the same as our Jehovah and Yahweh. Jehovah Yahweh met and spoke to his people out in sunshine in the open as evident throughout the Bible.

He came down in a pillar of clouds or as flames to burn sacrifice in front of his people in broad daylight while the Priest of Baal cried in vain to Baal for a whole day to come down and burn their sacrifice. Allah only met and spoke to his prophet Mohammed in a cave, in the dark. Never in broad daylight nor out in the open. The only time Jesus met Satan (the Prince of Darkness) face to face was in a cave, if you get my drift????

We cannot allow them to lead us just like how the ancient Israelis rise up to stop the uncircumcised from leading them!

Our so called Christian brothers in Voreqe, Naivalurua, Teleni, Sukanaivalu, Senilagakali etc. are those the Bible warned us of as wolves in sheep’s skin.

It is time our church leaders start preaching that the people rise up and take action. We should start mobilising and rise up to this tyranny because if we don’t Rome (the illegal government) will one day enter the temple and destroy it scattering Israel (the iTaukei) to the four corners of the Earth as happened in Jerusalem a few years after Christ’s crucifixion. It has already started with their raid of Epworth House and suspension of the GCC.

If it was not for the early Christians of the Book of Act putting their life on the line against the might of the Roman Empire to be crucified or fed to the Lions at the Colosseum, there would have been no Christian Church today.

If it was not for Archbishop Desmond Tutu walking the talk and leading the way for church leaders in the black township to turn and rise up in support of Nelson Mendela and the ANC, apartheid would still exist in South Africa today.

If it was not for Cardinal Jaime Lachicha Sin, head of the Roman Catholic Church of the Philippines taking the lead to rise up against the tyranny of Ferdinand Marcos after Ninoy Aquino was murdered on the tarmac while returning form American excile, the Military would still be in power in that country today.

If it was not for Pope John Paul II leading the conscious of his native Poland, the destruction of the tyranny of Communism and the Iron Curtin would have been delayed for at least another ten years in Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe.

I am appealing to the Church leaders to preach people power to the people. What are they afraid of, physical harm and death? Are they not God’s anointed who would gladly put their life on the line to fight against the tyranny of non believers that lead us just as the early Christians did in Roman Times? Or is it true that the comfort of Pajero’s and good houses provided by the congregation clouding their judgment?

Aren’t they guilty when it has to take a woman in Kuini Lutua to rise up and face the might of these bullies? Do they sleep well at night and prepared to hold back and watch, listen and do nothing while Taniela Tabu testifies his faith on air with Radio Australia and how he is prepared to meet thy creator fighting for what he believes in? Whatever happened to Psalm 23 that “If I happen to enter the valley of death I shall fear no evil for God is with me”.

Whatever happened to the spirit of those students of Navuloa Bible College in the 1800s who were being prepared for mission work. It was told that they all stood up and volunteered to go on mission among the headhunters and cannibals of the Solomon’s and Papua New Guinea knowing that none of them might ever come out alive, when an appeal was made for volunteers. Back then Talatala’s were prepared to suffer for the good of their flocks and what can be more noble for a Talatala or the entire church to rise up and be the conscious of the nation and say enough is enough to this tyranny that is upon us.

I am appealing to the Church Leaders who may be reading this blog. We are now entering a phase in the history of this Country and our people where our faith as Christians and our identity as a race are being challenge by murderers in velvet gloves. We are looking for leaders or a leader that will rise up and lead us to fight against this murderous criminal and the only force that can do that is the Church.

You are not only required but obligated by your calling so get off your Pajeros and comfy houses, get off the grog bowl and come and support your flocks who are suffering. Come and suffer with them. When they take a pay cut, cut your vakamisinare and soli by 5%. Come and picket with them on the picket line. Come and run around the grounds of RFMF stripped semi naked on a morning drizzle with them. Come and wipe the tears of blood off their eyebrows and reassure them as they enter the valley of death.

Do that and see how God will come down with his wrath on those that prosecute you and see your church filled to the bream once again on Sunday. That is your challenge and your first calling. Na soli kei na vakamisinare e na qai kenai kuri!!
If you don’t take action now then within five years time you will be hearing the Koran recited in worship at the Sacred Heart Cathedral or the Hindu Veda at the Centenary Church or the Vedic at Calvary Temple.

THE UTOPIAN SEARCH CONTINUES!

The Bible is the most misunderstood book on the planet, by those who do not read it and by many who do. The Bible is simply about a King, a Kingdom and a Royal Family of children. It was never intended to be a religious book. Its story and message are about the desire of a King to extend his Kingdom through his Royal Family. It is about government and governing.

So what is this word government? Government is about order, influence, administration, distribution, protection, maintenance, accountability, responsibility and productivity. In principle, government is the person, group or organization that executes the functions of governing. How? By exercising authority and jurisdiction over territory and a citizenry. The first Government known to man was established by the command and mandate of God to Adam and incorporates the need to order, work, oversee, guard and protect.

In the western world the roots of government reach back to the days of the Greeks. In Greek, government (kubernites) literally means to steer, to pilot, or to act as a rudder. Without government and law there is chaos. So government is the power given or derived for the purpose of making and enforcing laws for a certain territory. Governing incorporates the concepts of both power and authority. The two are very distinct from each other and we must understand them fully in order to appreciate the proper context of government. Both must be in balance for government to be successful.

Authority has to do with responsibility. Power has to do with ability. Authority has to do with empowerment; power focuses on exercising authority. Authority gives power its legality. Power without legitimate authority is dictatorship and eventually results in abuse, oppression and destruction. Authority gives power its rights. Sound familiar!?

Authority is the key to successful government. If a ruling power does not have authority it cannot govern. The authority to govern is given either by way of a popular vote or by way of natural authority. Today’s governments get their authority from people either through a process of choice or by seizing authority through force and our young nation has experienced the latter a tad too many times.

Because our IG usurped their authority by way of force they are under the impression that they have inherent authority. The only government on the earth that represents inherent authority is a monarchy. A king has the power and can give it to whomever he chooses. All other governments are formed by casting a vote or by launching a revolution. Essentially all human governments are substitutions for the ideal no matter how good these governments might be. The utopia we seek eludes us again!

The question to ponder is: if democracy is the ideal form of governing, why has it failed? Let’s inspect its origins. Democracy has its roots in the writings of the Greeks and is viewed by many people (even those in western religions) as the perfect government. Although Plato called it the fairest of constitutions he also saw weaknesses in democracy that would lead to its downfall. The rule of the people, for the people, by the people is a fine idea. But the roots of western democracy reveal that it was a reaction and rebellion against a divine choice or feudal system of governing called a kingdom.

In reality, Fiji has also fallen victim to this rebellion and has rejected Gods original design of Kingdom principles and adopted the Greek ideas and refined them to accommodate our ulterior aspirations. Fiji has never understood the potential power of a king and his kingdom because she was exposed to corrupt kings. In the absence of the perfect and ideal kingdom government concept, the concept of democracy is the best form of government invented by man to protect him from his own defective nature and selfish character. And we have time and again taken advantage of this. Despite being the best form of government it is still inundated with flaws. The very foundation and major principle of democracy, power and authority by majority vote, is the underpinning problem.

This defect is critical because even though it gives power to the majority of the people, it also places morality, values and standards for law at the mercy of this majority. All this does is legitimize the majority’s values, desires, beliefs, aspirations and preferences. The problem is that the majority vote can be the wrong vote. How many times have we seen that happen in our lifetime? It follows then that if democracy is in the people, then “we the people” become the supreme ruler of our lives and ultimate destiny. We have become our own god! No matter how educated we are, we can only lead ourselves as far as we go ourselves. If the ancient Hebrew scribe said that there is nothing new under the sun, then history has repeated the truth that man left to himself makes a poor god. Democracy without God therefore is man’s worship and elevation of himself and his own intelligence. What a disaster!

God is not subject to our politics nor can He be. He has created His own political system and governmental structure that is far superior to all forms of earthly government. In Him there is no difference between government and spirituality. The very assignment given to Adam in the Garden was a political assignment given to a spirit being living in a flesh body. If this is so in the original biblical mandate then there should be no such thing as “separation of church and state”. There is no biblical foundation to recent statements from the IG that the church must stay out of politics! We are all political and religious! There can be no separation between a man and his belief system!

We are trying our very best that out of all this mayhem that this nation will learn the lesson that this nation is governed by lawful entities and persons who have the mandate of the people.
Governed of the people by the people for the people.

We must learn the hard lesson that military coups and dictorships will get nowhere in the long run. You cannot just take away peoples pay just like that and expect them to support you the next day. You cannot keep lying to unions and expect them to keep quiet all the time.
We must show this nation for all times the power of the people in nation building.

If it has to come at a cost then so be it.People will be killled, thrown into jail, made to run around with no clothes etc. But the fight must go on.

We must all stand at this moment in time to witness and to be part of this great political evolution.

In God we trust. In God we stand.

Keep our heads held up high and say c’mon gloomy day lets thrash it out. There is no room for negativity in this process. We must keep raising the flag of freedom and liberties.

He was bruised, tortured, taunted, made a mockery, whipped 39 times with whips tipped with sharpened bones and iron hooks and nails that ripped into his flesh and tore chunks of his flesh off his body. Even on the cross, the spear pierced his side. Nails smahed his hands and feet, gaping holes in his skull from the crown of thorns. He did not lift a finger, He did not fight back. After being taken up to the dog kennel in Nabua and subjected to light torture (running around in sapo's in the rain, being punched up) he was then threatened by the wild dogs that he would be killed if he were to be ever taken up to camp again!

Already another case of Human Rights abuse!

But despite those threats on his life, he says he will continue to FIGHT ON! You can never put a good man down.

With his counter parts, Mr. Attar Singh & Tevita Koroi also been given death threats, the fight is on full force. As of two hours and 20 minutes agao, the strikers walked off their jobs.

Mr. Singh in fearing for his life and the life of his family is not taking the threat lightly.

Mr. Singh said, ''I do not know what kinds of comments I have made that may have been offensive to them (military), we have done everything legally and I dont see why we cannot comment. I dont know the reason,''.

''This is the sort of situation we are living in, the signs of the times we are living in.''

The unions have followed procedures and there is no reason whatsoever for the military to react at comments unionists make. They always bring up the same argument that comments are "inciteful".

Altogether there are 10,699 members with 4269 FTA members, 5500 PEU members and 600 VNUTW members who are walking off their jobs today.

FICTU general secretary Attar Singh said yesterday there had been no more talks or meeting with the interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune yesterday and it was all systems go for the strike today.

With 5500 memebers of the PUblic Employees Unionists walking off their jobs today, 2000 of which work in Water, Sewerage, Roads and Health. This would affect the Illegal Interim Government and stir the dogs in the kennel to a wild frenzy. This is exactly the scenario expected.

But if we are to BRING DOWN A DICATORSHIP, drastic action needs to be taken.

The only legal way to do it is to call for a nationwide STRIKE!

Now we can sit back and watch the Illegal Interim Governments house of card, fall!

Taniela Tabu on TV1 news tonight has finally given the date of strike commencement.

Thursday 2nd August at 8 am FICTU is to "TOOLS DOWN"! According to Tabu, all talks have broken down and has called a general nation wide strike to make the country listen to their grievances.

Latest reports say that this has been rejected by the Illegal Interim cabinet.

Taniela Tabu also said, "Our demands were clear that Government immediately retain the compulsory retirement age at 60 for all government workers and the restoration of the 5 percent pay cut immediately."

"Unfortunately Cabinet has rejected this and I question this decision," Tabu said. Tabu blamed interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry for the decision and called for his axing. "I have only one person to blame and that is the interim Minister for Finance Mahendra Chaudhry after he claimed that he cannot meet our demands."

Tabu said that the deal last month between the interim Government and two other public sector unions, over similar grievances, was brokered by rival umbrella union body, Fiji Trade Union Congress (FTUC). He said that deal was "political" and asked "who is really in control of the Government".

He said that Commodore Bainimarama should think twice about having Chaudhry in Government. However, Commodore Bainimarama said Cabinet is running the Government and not Chaudhry. He said the stand by Cabinet would not change "with or without" Chaudhry. Chaudhry is a union leader and the leader of the Fiji Labour Party. "

THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!

The nurses are at 14oo strong. The FTA are expecting 4000 of their members to be sitting down. The rest of the FICTU affiliates may just take the number to beyond 10,000 of Fiji's labour force. This is quite a large number. Wth these strikers willing to forego their pay packets, of course, less spending is to be expected, thereby affecting other sectors of the economy.

They have the government at their mercy now. This Illegal Interim Regime should not have counted their chickens before they hatched. Looks like all their chooks are dead!

THE GREAT SHOWDOWN!

"TODAY the nation is expected to find out whether 4000 teachers will add to the country's growing industrial crisis.
It is another situation that the State can ill afford. Yet, the interim administration has seemingly taken an almost aloof approach towards this pressing issue. It is the same with the ongoing nurses strike which enters its seventh day today.
For the past two days the interim Government has remained silent. Maybe it's part of its tactic to pretend to be disinterested or that it is coping well with skeleton staff. If this is the case, then such a strategy may only serve to harden the resolve of these disgruntled unions.
In such matters, it is imperative that dialogue is actively pursued. All that can reasonably be done to find common ground should be pursued, rather than waiting for a routine meeting like today's scheduled Cabinet meet. Yesterday little progress was seen or heard to have been made as striking nurses and the interim Government continued on their divergent paths.
So far we have been fortunate that there has been no major incident that warranted all hands on deck, so to speak.
But how long will this good fortune last? Accounts that all is fine at the various health centres and hospitals are far from the truth, given that basic health services have been denied.
Then there's the interim Labour Minister Bernadette Rounds-Ganilau, whose prolonged assessment of the situation is baffling.
There appears to be a reluctance on her part to refer the matter to compulsory arbitration.
The option was recently brushed aside by a senior civil servant as being time-consuming and thus impractical. Or, could it be that it wants to avoid the real risk of losing more than it can afford?
Whatever the case, the interim Cabinet must today decide on the nurses' grievances and also avert the looming strike by teachers.
Refusing to talk unless the nurses first return to work will be of little help but will only serve to challenge them to stay the course and fight to the bitter end a scenario in which all parties are bound to lose out even more and the innocents in need forced to suffer more.
Parties must exercise goodwill and keep talking.
Meanwhile, striking nurses may want to reconsider their dancing and merry-making at picketing sites. While it may be part and parcel of the local union culture, is it in its interests to appear insensitive at a time when the public health system is at a near standstill and the people they vowed to serve are either waiting for an unreasonably long time or turned away? TEACHERS JOIN THE FRAY!

"More than 4,200 members of the Fijian Teachers Association are now getting ready to go on strike from Thursday morning if cabinet does not give into the FTA's demands tomorrow.

FTA President, Tevita Koroi said they have given the interim government enough time and they are waiting for the cabinet meeting to reach the final decision on the strike this week.

Koroi has made it clear that the FTA wants the 5 percent pay cut to be restored by August, retirement age to remain at 60 years and the Partnership Agreement regarding COLA increments to remain in place."fijivillagenews

The Illegal Interim Prime Minister should have realised by now that steering the helm of his naval ships was far easier than trying to steer the national ship. Easier said than done. Not even any well thought out contingency plan to avert the disaster of a massive nation wide strike by the nations labour force would have worked.

The unions have the governments arm behid their back. For most indigenous union supporters, this is SHOWTIME....a way to bring down an Illegal regime, to cripple it to the core....... A way to get back at a regime that has brought nothing but heartache, pain and shame to this nation.

The teachers like the nurses demand the restoration of their 5% pay cut. They want the retirement age to remain at 60yrs. Plus the agreement on COLA increments to be in place.

The big question is , WILL THIS REGIME BUDGE?

Now it is a matter of wills. The will of an Illegal Dictatorship or the will of the people. History has shown us over and over again that a unified will of a mass group of people can overturn ANYTHING!

More than 4200 members of the FTA will soon be sitting down. Children will be staying at home. Bus operators will lose business. Other essential services will lose out. There are already 1400 nurses on strike. Already the economy is feeling the downward pull.

FICTU is also gearing up for their strike action. A massive group of Fiji's labour force striking all at once will all but bring this nation to a grinding halt and an Illegal Interim Regime to it's knees. They need to be reminded that being on one's knees is the position of humility & repentance.

However Humility & Repentance is one virtue that this regime sadly lacks but greatly needs!

FIJI MONEY MATTERS!

"Whoever coined the phrase “money isn’t everything” was either broke or a millionaire.For most of us, including your humble correspondent, money may not be everything, but it still matters. It matters a damn lot. Especially if your life savings are in Fiji dollars.
I mention this because the Interim Government is continuing to mislead people in Fiji about the state of the economy. Mahendra Chaudhry keeps telling us everything is rosy but Professor Satish Chand, an independent analyst, has some bad news for people with Fijian dollars.
The good professor thinks Fiji’s dollar is over-valued by 12 percent. It’s just a matter of time before we face devaluation. As Chand points out, reserves are down and capital flow is not filling the gap between export receipts and import bills. Now I am sure Professor Chand has a technical term for that situation, but your humble correspondent prefers to call it the Law of Economic Gravity.
OK, we already have restrictions on overseas transfer of capital but, as Professor Chand notes, that only works in the short term. It’s like water rationing in dry times - it delays the emptying of the reservoir but it’s no substitute for rain. And in any event, capital controls only discourage investors. I mean, who would want to turn their hard-earned US, NZ, Canadian or Australian dollars into Fiji dollars?
Dictators like Frank can use their green goon squads to intimidate people, they can put stooges like Full Chow in charge of the police and they can growl inanely as much as they like at their neighbors, but the one thing they can not so - ever - is to force investors to send more dollars. Mahendra Chaudhry, please note!
Yes, Chaudhry, you really do try to attract investment capital. But no one believes your spin. Unfortunately, when you attempt to woo investors as the “lifeblood of the economy”, you forget that they remember - only too well - that not long ago you saw them as “bloodsuckers”. Silly, silly boy! Go stand in the corner!
No, in light of Professor Chand’s dire predictions, and the IG’s ineptitude, your humble correspondent can see one way to protect your money and rebuild investor confidence: it’s called a stable, elected government under the rule of law.
As you might recall, our then government was not doing a bad job of generating Fiji’s much-needed money and investment - right up until the thuggish oaf, Bainimarama, decided to pull his coup on 5th December last."

FIJI ECONOMY CONTRACTING!

"THE economy is likely to contract further as a result of the nurses' strike, says the University of the South Pacific's Dr Mahendra Reddy.

Dr Reddy, the Associate Professor of Economics, said the strike had affected the general morale of the working class and would affect spending.

"People, regardless of whether they are affected, will be concerned about the overall economic state of the country and thus will be cautious about spending," said Dr Reddy.

He said there was an overall concern about the interim Government's ability to govern.

"A strike by public servants is the last thing any government would want to have during its tenure," he said.

"All attention is focused now on the strike. Investors are concerned about any implications on instability arising from this strike and therefore, may hold on to any major projects for the time being."

Dr Reddy said these were not good aspects for an already struggling economy.
The Reserve Bank of Fiji last week said the economy was projected to contract by 3.1 per cent this year.

Dr Reddy said the interim Government must immediately meet the unions and establish a social compact in which a progressive restoration of the wage cut was mapped out.

"To date we have only considered across the board wage restoration," he said.
Dr Reddy said there was a need to look at a progressive and staggered wage restoration.

For example, in December low wage earners, those earning below $15,000 could have a five per cent restoration while the rest have a one per cent increase, he said.

Dr Reddy said the remaining four per cent could be subject to the state of the economy next year. Attempts to contact interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry and interim Minister for Public Service Poseci Bune were unsuccessful.

Permanent secretary in the Prime Minister's Office Parmesh Chand said Dr Reddy's concern about the interim Government's ability to govern was the view of an academic.

"And if academics were to get in touch with reality then they would not be teaching theory and concepts," said Mr Chand.

"So really it is easy for them to say that from an academic's view point."
Mr Chand said academics had been saying the public sector was too large and that the Government spent most of its money on public sector.

He said the pay cut was one of the measures taken as part of the interim government's reform to contain the cost of running public service in the face of a contracting economy. "FijiTimes online

Dr. Reddy seems to have an unexaggerated view of the state of our economy unlike Mr. Chaudary's statements that the economy is stable.

Right now, it seems to be very unstable due to the biggest negative factor, THE ILLEGAL TAKEOVER OF A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT.

It seems the Illegals want to continue to gloss over the dreadful state of our economy to hide their bungling but the truth will always prevail!

Nothing has turned out right since the Illegals took over. In fact things have worsened on their watch.

It maybe time now for them to close up shop, retire to the barracks and do what they are trained to do best, PROTECT the nation NOT DESTROY it! Mahendra Chaudary should go back to the FLP office and restrtaegise. Obviously, his best laid plans do not seem to be working as he thought.

1. Down turn in the tourism sector and related services

2. Closure of Vatukoula Mine

3. Strike actions of unions due to unnecessary paycuts to civil servants and lowering of

retirement age

4. According to RBF, the economy will contract by 3.1% compared to their initial 2.5% prediction. A huge variance that is hitting the poor the hardest with the increase in cost of almost everything.

The Illegals must remove themselves or be removed.....by force if worse comes to worst.

Bring back DEMOCRACY. Let the people have their say. Let them decide who should rule them, not a bunch of failed politicians and miltary wannabes..........

The news today of the charging of eight police officers for the death of Tevita Malasebe brings a glimmer of hope for a better future.

Now that justice is being done, Malasbe's mother will at least be at peace in knowing that her son's murderers will be put behind bars. But even that reprieve will never bring her son back from the grave.

Every mother in Fiji can breathe a sigh of relief that at least the murderer's of one of the three victims has been caught.

The army must bring some closure to these murders and also bring to justice the murderers of Verebasaga & Rabaka. Even if his own men did these dastardly acts, he should not try to save their skins but do the right thing and hand them over to the police for charging. He cannot afford to contnue to hide the them.

Again, this brings to mind his own brother in laws murder case.......the Illegal Interim PM is answerable! How can he call himself a leader of this nation when he has blood on his hands?

He must not allow guilty people to go loose. If he does, he will more than likely reap the evil seeds he has sown, through his children. And that would be a very SAD & GRIEVIOUS day for him.

Five years ago, I had a dream that a new kingdom was set up in our land. There was a massive invasion of foreigners....and they all looked looked of Asian descent. They seemed to have grabbed a hold of the whole nation and the people of Fiji were subservient to these new people.

They were a very strong willed and strong minded people and the people of Fiji seemed to be weak in their presence. I saw what looked like a throne established in the capital city of Suva. And on the throne sat an Asian man in full Chinese royal regalia. He was wearing a red garment with gold embroidery and a crown like head piece of red & gold. He sat very commandingly on that throne. Then as I looked at him sitting there I heard a voice saying, "Look thats the new Emperor of Fiji."

Bainivore only made a comment in passing but there is more to this conspiracy than meets the eye. Again as I mentioned in my earlier posts, the warning signs are all around us. The very real threat of economic collapse is before us. Where else will the Illegal Interim regime turn? I can reliably inform readers that there IS a figure - albeit a closely-guarded one - for the budget blowout occasioned by Frank Bainimarama's latest play project, more widely known as the 5th December 2006 Fiji Coup.The figure was passed on to your humble correspondent a few weeks ago. But since then I have managed to get it double-checked.

And I mean "double checked" quite literally because I have authenticated the original figure through two additional and quite independent sources.And I should stress that my sources in this case are impeccable.Altogether, I have three independent sources telling me exactly the same thing that the RFMF's budget has been exceeded by $40 million.

Yes! The figure is FORTY MILLION FIJIAN DOLLARS!Now, depending on who you believe, that represents at least 50 per cent of this year's RFMF budget (the official RFMF budget figure is $75 million, but my sources say it's actually $80-million).So there it is - the reason why, since the coup, there are more electricity blackouts, water supply hiccups, unfilled potholes, unpaid flood victims, etc. etc.

To put it simply, the government's piggy bank is emptying at an alarming rate. We are living in exciting times! Exciting because we are about to see & hear unfolding in the weeks and months ahead the culmination of the battle between the two opposing forces, those who vehemently oppose the coup and those who are ardent supporters of the coup.

The lines are marked, the boundaries drawn. One side has over stepped the mark. The unions in their bid to seek for justice in their wage claims, have stirred up a hornets nest of monumentous proportions for those seeking to use the unions stand as leverage to push forward their agenda.

Violence begets violence. The path of peaceful resistance will always be the better option.

The greater ANTI COUP public who advocate violence to further their cause will always meet with violence. This is not the way to go!

There is a segement of coup opposers who propose the peaceful way. Blogging, peaceful strikes, peace marches, prayer gatherings etc. will always achieve the goals desired.

I urge those contemplating using the union strikes as a means to an end, please reconsider your stand. Let good sense prevail. We have a right to be angry. We have a right to speak out at injustice. We have a right to blog our pain away. We have a right to be heard. However we must be careful that our rights do not cause harm and danger to others.

The nurses have stated that they have no political agenda, but there are others out there who will use this situation to their advantage. The army and police are manning the entries to picket sites and discouraging outsiders from entering the premises.

The nurses don't want trouble. They do need our unwavering support. They do need cash and kind. They do need prayers. Let's support the nursing fraternity.........PEACEFULLY!

"More job losses are expected within the tourism industry as there are no signs of recovery. Interim Labour Minister Bernadette Ganilau told Village news that hotels and resorts are struggling to keep people employed as occupancy rates remain below 50%.

According to Ganilau lack of funds has decreased their advertising drastically and they desperately need the $2 million allocated by the Finance Ministry for printing of brochures and restarting various advertising campaigns which has seized at the moment.

It seems the Illegal Interim Regime is having a hard time releasing the $2m promised to FVB to kickstart the advertising campaign. "Times: Some have commented on the militarization of key government positions and you seem to be one of those that have benefited from the coup. What have you to say on this?

Mr Naupoto: The military is a nation building tool and we are trained in some of the best institutions in the world. I feel in the past we have been used too much as a watch dog with a chain. When something bad happens the dogs are unleashed to do a job and 2000 was a good example. When the job is completed the dogs are returned to the barracks and tied up again. If we look around there are so many military officers who have proved their worth and we are useful resources. To kill the coup culture the military must not be chained because when that breaks the dog bites. They need to be used in nation building.
When the police cannot handle the situation the military comes in the picture but when the job is done we are chased back to the barracks. History though has proven that military training is better than democracy. " Fijitimes online feature

I would agree with Naupoto that the army can be likened to dogs. For that is the way they are acting right now, like wild dogs!

However one needs to ask the question, if breeding dogs is necessary in the first place! Does Fiji need more dogs? With the current wild canine population so high in our country, another pack of two legged, green coated, gun toting wild dogs is not what we can handle right now!

Wild dogs can do alot of harm. Their bite can cause an infection called RABIES! They become a great danger to others and to themselves. When wild dogs carrying the rabies virus run loose, they send DOG CATCHERS to take them to the pound where they are put to sleep.

Any nation led by a military government is one who is controlled and manipulated into silence and robotic obedience. It takes away the freedom of thought and speech which need to be defended at all costs. Naupoto is WRONG to say that miltary training is better than democracy.

They may be trained in the best institutions but they have no training in dealing with people through the art of diplomcacy and tact. The only know how to use BRUTE FORCE to get things done their way. Military governments are oppressors and use their guns to wield their power. A military that uses guns to control and manipulate people into submission is a LOW DOWN, NO GOOD, OBNOXIOUS, COWARDLY one!

We need to seriously consider the need for continuing to have a kennel for of wild dogs that are so very expensive to keep. Because they have never really been at war with anyone, all they become is watch dogs. They just watch and take note of every small mistake the governments make. And if they do not like it, like rabid dogs, they come in for the kill with their lethal bites.

What we need to ask is do we really have any enemies that would try to invade us and if so will these dogs be able to stop an invasion? Are they equipped for a war on our soil? It just takes one smart bomb or one daisy cutter to destroy the kennel and the dogs!

Watson, I vote that we start breeding cats. They are clean, low maintainance, they can find their own food if our cupboards are bare and they do not make awful barking noises that disturb our peace & quiet. Yes, cats would be lovely to have........I vote the dogs out!

PREPARING FOR THE GREAT SHOWDOWN!

On TV1 news tonight the news segment showed the army and police working together as anti riot teams prepare for the great showdown next week.

It's seems rather preconceived that the strikers would actually get violent.....but there you go, we have a cancer of violence & death pervading the military and police that is any wonder the reactionary measures they are taking.

Lines of riot police in blue with riot gear, batons, shields, the whole works. As they displayed their various moves, the soldiers ran up in front , displaying their guns and fancy footwork!

Like the komodo dragon that displays how ugly and scary it is, with scales and spiky back, with huge claws and all, their show of force in tonights media can only be termed as COWARDLY!

The news segment went on to interview Union Leader, the old war horse, Taniela Tabu as he was shown the video of the "komodo dragon" displaying it's scary strength and riot gear! With tears glinting in his eyes and a fearless resolve in his heart, voice breaking, he quoted Psalm 23
and that the army of Fiji's workers would not fear but would stand boldly for what they believed in....they were prepared to die. He believed it was the will of God!

If the military thinks that by screening their riot preparedness would shun strikers and cause people to retreat, unfortunately, the very opposite may just happen. With the emotional Taniela Tabu, stating their refusal to back down, this would only cause the strikers to gather more strength and resolve to continue their sit down, come what may!

Christians need to be fasting & praying for this strike. Things could turn violent and lives could be lost. It is important that the CHURCH RISE UP in this crucial hour to INTERCEDE for our beloved VITI!

DON'T TOUCH THE WORKER'S MONEY!

"Interim Minister for Public Service, Poseci Bune says that plans by Fiji's nurses to ply their trade abroad for better pay would work in Government's favour.

The Fiji Nursing Association has said that it will support its members applying for jobs overseas. The association is also preparing for a nationwide strike on July 24.

However, Bune said that although there is a critical shortage of nurses in Fiji, the interim Government is not giving in to the demands of the FNA for the full restoration of the 5 per cent pay cut, amongst other things.

"I think the more that leave our shores the better for us too because we can address our employment problem by recruiting those who are leaving our school system. And now remittance is almost level with tourism as our main source of foreign exchange."

Bune adds that a nationwide strike by members of FNA will not have much effect on the economy or the people of Fiji.

"We have been saying all along that our offer is final and we cannot give what they want because they got to understand that the economy is barely surviving."

Bune says he remains hopeful of an agreement with the FNA executives in their meeting tomorrow.
It is understood the nurses have made a proposal to the interim Government.

The association has warned that about 1400 nurses will walk out of hospitals next Tuesday unless the Interim Government meets its demands. "

Poseci Bune's comments that nurses would be better off plying their trade abroad is laced with sarcasm and mockery! The last thing the nurses want to do is to go abroad! If people have to leave the comfort of their families, friends and homes, nurses as mothers separated from their husbands and children, just because they could not have a better deal here, then the government has sadly lost the plot.

All this Regime will do is to help build a generation of lost children who are motherless and husbands who will commit adultery because their wives are not at home! Fiji will leave behind a legacy of broken homes and broken people!

Nurses leaving our shores, for that matter, anyone having to leave our shores because of lack of job opportunities and career incentives here proves that drastic policy & legislation changes need to be made to right the wrongs done to Fiji's labour force. This has been going on for too long.

Even before the takeover, the problem of workers leaving as well as the great brain drain, just goes to prove that this issue must be addressed. The greatest loss this nation has is when we can't pay people we train.We can't pay people who work hard to make the nation move!

The workers of this nation deserve a fair deal! If money has to be saved, why don't the Illegal Interim Ministers have their pay cuts. Save money from elsewhere! THE TRUTH BEHIND NIMILOTE VEREBASAGA'S BRUTAL DEATH!

WHERE IS JUSTICE?

THE MURDER OF NIMILOTE VEREBASAGA (NV)
Names of some Soldiers who were involved in the Murder of Nimilote Verebasaga

1. Maika from Koro island

2. Alipate Rabitu, brother of Rabitu sisters who were/are part of Netball Fiji, Fijian affairs employee who works as a driver for the Tailevu Provincial Council in the day and puts on his uniform at night.

3. Johnny, a TF, taxi driver, part-Indian/Fijian, eye-witness

4. two others from Vugalei whose names will be given soon

Alipate Rabitu works in the daytime for the Tailevu Provincial Council based in Nausori Town, but wears his army uniform at night. It is sickening to see Alipate Rabitu continuing to work for the Council, which would be expected to on the side of indigenous people, or at the very least the Tailevu people, yet the Council employs people like Rabitu who murder fellow Fijians/Tailevuans.

People in Rabitu’s village of Naila (outside Nausori) have started to call him a murderer in his face Maika from Koro island, resides in Togadravu Village, but left that village straight after the murder and went into hiding until he was caught by the Police in a raid at his sister’s place in Raiwai. He was taken to Nausori police station. Before finally catching him, Police kept quizzing his wife of his whereabouts but they were given the run-around until they caught him.

Enter Teleni & BainimaramaMaika was caught, and taken to Nausori Police Station. He was later released to two Army officers who were given clear instructions to come and collect Maika from the Police. Armed with a mobile phone, these two army officers dialled a number and gave the phone to selected Police officers in Nausori, who quickly found out that the voice on the other side wanting to talk with them belonged to none other than Captain Esala Teleni (Deputy Army Commander and since then the new Police Commissioner and promoted to Commodore), and Bainimarama, who threateningly and menacingly inquired with them why they were still pursuing the Verebasaga case.

These two Army thugs or bullies (Teleni & Bainimarama) then told the investigating police officers in no uncertain terms over the phone to find a new job …etc. Now that Teleni has taken over the reigns of the Police Force, he is expected to close down the investigation into Verebasaga’s murder case, and kick out these police officers who were investigating the murder.
Johnny, the other soldier in the group who was a best friend of Nimilote, also drove taxi with him when he was not wearing an army uniform, did not want to take part in the murder, but the other soldiers forced him to. He was even beaten up that same night by his colleagues, for not assisting them in beating up his good friend NV.

Another soldier is from Vugalei. Most of these soldiers are from Tailevu Province.
Verebasaga never caused any problem with the Army. That fateful night he was sleeping with his two daughters, who woke up just in time to see their father being taken away. It was to be the last time they would see their father alive.

Verebasaga has/had friends in the army, who have helped identify the murderers. These relatives were very sad when they learned about the killing of NV. Some of them also saw the dead body of NV, as early as one and a half hour after being taken from his home.
Two policemen, one from Tokatoka, one from Buretu, who are close relatives of NV were witnesses of the brutal killing. Nimilote’s family members know the two police officers personally.

These policemen told the story of what happened to NV. When the Army found out that these two had spilled the beans, they were taken up to the army camp, made to crawl and other punishment was done to them because they told the story. But as expected these two couldn’t hold back but had to tell because they knew Verebasaga personally.

It seems that the Tailevu Provincial Council is using the army to do their dirty jobs, using one of the workers to do it. Council driver Alipate Rabitu brags to others in the daytime about the unlawful activities mandhandling, harassing, activities that he does in the nights. We have witnessed his handicapped children. Now Nimilote’s blood is on his head and his descendants. And those in the Tailevu council who got him to do their dirty business.

All these information is known among Rabitu’s fellow villagers. Rabitu even told the story himself to the girl he is sleeping with right now (not even his wife knows about this and his affairs), very young girl from the nearby village (veiyala) Directive from RFMF is that whenever any of these police officers try to interrogate Rabitu, Rabitu is to report it straight away to Army HQ…. who will punish these police officers ….

It would seem that the issue in the NV murder case is the dispute about the title of the Tui Nakelo. One faction is led by Ratu Ravuama, assistant Roko Tui Tailevu, a nephew of Ratu Manasa Talakuli (husband of Adi Samanunu Talakuli of Bau, former Fiji High Commissioner to Malaysia) who is a contender to the title. Ratu Manasa, according to the Veitarogi Vanua, is from Kiuva (where Bainimarama comes from (his roots can be traced to Gau island in the Lomaiviti group), and is also a close relative of VB, the Army Commander and Interim PM.The other faction is of Ratu Vula, who, according to Veitarogi Vanua is registered twice, to his mother’s side and to his father’s side. But he is the rightful Tui Nakelo, according to the VeitarogiVanua. NV’s family/clan is on Ratu Vula’s side to take the title of Tui Nakelo, because they have evidence that he is the rightul owner of the title. Ratu Manasa can’t be Tui Nakelo because he’s from Kiuva.
Why is NV’s family involved? Ratu Manasa and his family, including the Assistant Roko Tui Tailevu’s family, have been claiming the Verebasaga family land as theirs, for years, but the NLTB with written documents have given NV’s family a lot of documents showing that NV’s family are legal and rightful owners of the land.A week before NV’s murder, Army started to harass two of NV’s brother’s sons (late teens - early youth age), made them crawl, asked them questions on issues that only the Tailevu Provincial Council officers or insiders knew about. How were these two innocent youth to know about these things? This is where the Provincial Council is believed to have a hand in this murder, if not officially, at least by one of its senior officers.
WHY KILL NV? He is a registered surveyor, he knows the map, the land, the NLTB documents, in short, he knew the truth.To his village and his mataqali, Nimilote is a savior, being instrumental in returning to his clan the land which Ratu Ravuama and his uncle Ratu Manasa Talakuli and his family, who are originally from Kiuva, have been using and abusing ….

GETTING OUT OF THE HOLE!

"AS each day passes, we wonder if it is at all possible to maintain some semblance of good and rational judgment on how the nation is governed.

As each week passes, we wonder if it will be at all possible to return this nation to parliamentary democracy.

As another month passes, we wonder if indeed this military-style clean-up campaign will ever end.

We watch as friends and relatives of those in power take up important positions in the civil service and public institutions.

The latest is that of the son of an interim Cabinet minister appearing from nowhere and given the chairmanship of an organisation which the State holds majority shares in.

We see how FICAC officers try to force confidential information on particular persons from statute-guided institutions such as the Fiji Development Bank, Fijian Holdings and Fiji Inland Revenue and Customs Authority.

The morale of workers in these institutions and that of civil servants is dented. In the face of the initial statement by military commander Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama that no one in the military was going to benefit from the coup, we see senior military officers being posted to high-level posts in the civil service.

It seems that rules are changed as situations and circumstances change.
The appointments to such high positions are becoming almost predictable now with the sympathisers of the events of 5/12 getting the nod ahead of others.

No, that's not nepotism or corruption, we are told. They are all best-man-for-the-job appointments.

The message coming out of the fourth floor of Government Buildings points to an election to be held only when the President's mandate has been successfully fulfilled.

Forget about honouring the roadmaps and agreements with the European Union or the Pacific Island nations' forum.

It looks like we do not really need the EU's multi-million dollar financial package any longer because there is always the soft loan from China we can fall back on.

Our children watch helplessly as their parents and family members are laid off work or have their pay cut because of the deteriorating economic situation.

We watch as some of the freedoms guaranteed in the supreme law of the land, such as freedom of movement and speech, are curtailed without any proper explanation or legal reasoning.

We wonder if and when we will ever get out of this deepening hole we are digging for ourselves.
And sadly, there are very few positive things we can be pleased and talk about these days. "

Your editorial (FT 18/7) is pessimistic and an unnecessarily alarmist overview of Fiji's situation.
The tone and content are deliberately pitched to paint a bleak and negative assessment of our situation and which can only lead to mislead and misinform the people.

The situation is not all gloom and doom as you appear to surmise.

Indeed, the interim government has a clear mandate from the President to take the country forward socially, economically and governance wise. Over the past six months, the interim

Government has been committed and focused on achieving elements of this mandate, including stabilising the national economy, fighting widespread corruption, developing programs to uplift the living standards of the poor and disadvantaged, upholding the Constitution and preparing for a return to parliamentary governance through democratic elections.

Other objectives are to restructure the Native Land Trust Board to ensure more benefits to the landowners, improve foreign relations and give paramountcy to national security and the territorial integrity of Fiji.

And the report card for the past six months has been enlightening in terms of the work and tasks achieved by the interim Government in fulfiling the President's mandate.

These achievements include:

Revising the 2007 Budget and thereby securing financial and economic stability;

removing 2.5 per cent VAT;

promulgation of anti-corruption legislation;

inclusiveness: discrimination being removed at all levels;

reviving the sugar industry to ensure its long term viability;

reorganisation of State owned entities and civil service reforms; and

the promulgation of 30 decrees.

The interim Government is committed to a roadmap for returning Fiji to parliamentary democracy. This roadmap requires that a national census is convened in September this year and consequential actions to follow include the determination of new electoral boundaries, establishing voter registration systems, conducting national voter education and awareness programs and the agreement in principle for the convening of a general election by March 2009 at the earliest.

From this brief elaboration, you will no doubt agree that the interim Government has achieved a number of positive and beneficial milestones in a short period of time.

It will remain committed and focused to fully implementing the mandate of the President, thus ensuring the orderly return to elected parliamentary governance and providing a sustainable basis for our future development as a nation.

Your editorial alludes to the appointment of Manasa Baravilala, the son of an interim Government minister, as you put it as chairman of Air Terminal Services Limited.

In fact, Mr Baravilala well merits his appointment having had extensive experience in the airline and travel industry.

He possesses graduate and post-graduate qualifications in Business Management and Business Administration from the University of California, in Los Angeles, and a post-graduate diploma in senior airline management from the International Aviation Management Institute in Montreal, Canada.

Mr Baravilala's previous work experience includes stints as deputy CEO and director of marketing with Air Fiji Limited, regional director for the Americas with the Fiji Visitors Bureau and manager, passenger sales USA with Air Pacific Limited.

Mr Baravilala is therefore well positioned to take on the appointment of ATS chairman and should not be penalised by virtue of his parentage as your editorial suggests.

In summary, your editorial unfairly penalises the interim Government with a selection of subjective and mostly negative reports without a recourse to balance and accuracy.

As we can all see from this weak argument, Parmesh Chand thinly veiled attempts to validate the actions of this ILLEGAL INTERIM REGIME will always be seen as an APPLE POLISHING excercise.

All the lovely excuses in the world will not sway us from our stance.
NEPOTISM, CORRUPTION & LIES of the highest order is rampant in the ILLEGAL INTERIM REGIME!

There are other CAPABLE & MORE QUALIFIED people who could have been chosen to take the CEO of ATS! Why Manasa Baravilala? The lame excuses does not cut with the general ANTI COUP public neither we of the ANTI COUP BLOGGERS ASSOCIATION. This appointment is cruddy, lame, wrong and down right discombobulating (TILOU BUBU)!

USA IN THE PACIFIC!

On Pacific Radio News today, the deposed Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase said that a strong US presence in the Pacific would bring about more stability to countries in the Pacific. He believed that these countries would benefit politically and economically from US presence.

He went on to say that the region had been largely left to Australia and New Zealand to deal with and that the return of the US to the Pacific would be most welcome.

Indeed, the US needs to step up it's presence in our region. For too long, our nearest and dearest neighbours have had to deal with the sticky issues in the Pacific area. It's time that the big boys stepped in.

The USA must have a stronger presence here, especially so in a time when the nation of Fiji can be seen to be a major cause of instability in the region with their moves to look to Communist & Islamist nations for help. This would not augur well for the US who is the major player in the fight against terrorism.

Fiji making connections with China,Venezuela, Cuba & the United Arab Emirates which is a couple of hours away from major global terrorist hotspots such a Iraq & Iran, could be used by these nations as a hub of their activities and as a strategic gateway to other parts of the Pacific region.

The IIG is currently looking to China to farm our land. It is looking to United Arab Emirates for investors, buyers and tourists. And with these opportunities, no matter how bright the prospects, we must consider the overall effect it will have in the long term. We must count the cost now. The negatives will pour in just as much as the positives. We must consider the spiritual aspect as well.

With Australia, New Zealand & the USA, we have a great CHRISTIAN INFLUENCE. Missionaries, missionary teams, aid to churches, Christian television, Christian radio has flooded Fiji with blessing in whatever way, shape or form.

With our alignment with nations who are anti christian in essence, we have the threat of the drug cartel & communism with China & Venezuela and the terrorist/Islamist connection with UAE. Although moderate and western in outlook, the Emirates still holds tenanciously to their barbaric, ruthless & bloody Shariah Laws.

We urge the USA to immediately come into the Pacific, Fiji especially, and make it's presence known in a greater way than what is currently happening.

China is pouring large sums of money into the nations infrastructure. What development has the USA done for us ? It can be said that "the one who pours the most money in has the most say ".

We would urge the USA to do likewise and come quickly to the side of the Pacific nations before we are resigned to the fate " It's too late!"

OF TOURISTS, ISLAM & FIJI!

The attempts of Mrs. B. Ganilau to secure investors/buyers/tourists onto our shores can be seen as an act of dangerous desperation on the part of the Illegal Interim Regime to fill the national & tourism coffers.

In an interview with Fiji Times , Mrs. Ganilau said among other things,"We're looking for new allies, our old ones are giving up on us so if we are paid to go somewhere let's take advantage of it and go fly the Fiji flag with pride and not just sit at home and whinge. The Tourism Ministry, through the FVB, has no money for peripherals even no new publications or brochures, so let's do it by pressing flesh and taking the Bula spirit with us wherever we go. We took our own gifts and souvenirs to give away and promote Fiji!"

It is sad to note that we have to sacrifice our old allies,New Zealand and Australia who are our closest neigbours and traditional trading partners, for a new country, no matter how modern it may seem, no matter how "moderate" Dubai may be, the Islamic religion permeates and controls of every strata of their lives.

The dangerous step the IIR is taking to lure this nation onto our shores, will be detrimental to our country in the long run.

Mrs. Ganilau needs to ask herself the question of how the Tourism Ministry has no funds for new publications & brochures. Again, like spoilt bullies they need to be reminded over and over again that because of the overthrow of an elected government, our friends refuse to give us aid, therefore no money.......

Back to Dubai & the very real threat of the Islamisation of Fiji. Now Fiji, the drop in the ocean nation with a government that boastfully pushes neighbours away that have helped us , wants to connect itself with a nation that is basically Islamic in nature.

The very word, Islam should send a jolt of alertness to an otherwise half asleep population that has no idea of the trouble lurking ahead. For those of us in the Christian world that have a more discerning spirit, it is no suprise that this Government would seek help from Islamist states for help.

They already have their own muslims who have taken power in our government.

The Shameems , Ali , Sahu Khan, The Khaiyum, the Mohammed, already strategically put in place by a despotic military leader who has sided with the Muslims and their agenda. In this scenario, Chaudary & Co. appear to be only the puppets in the grander scheme of things.

It's a question of 'who really is pulling the strings', Chaudary and his little India plans or is it really a Muslim agenda?

Fiji just needs an influx of black cloaked women from head to foot and white caftaned men in white head dress fitted with black headbands to be swirling around our towns and cities and we are really headed for the pits.

The city of Dubai, though very western in it's presentation to the world, incorporating western lifestyles and business influences have still managed to adhere to their age old religious customs.
Their culture adheres strictly to Sharia Law(Law of God).

The UAE comes close to a caste system..."

Imagine filthy rich Arab men, buying off chunks of Fiji real estate, starting businesses, extending residency and involving themselves in our political life. It should be common knowledge now to all that Muslims have only one agenda and that is the "ISLAMISATION OF THE WORLD". And they will do so slowly but surely, infiltrating every strata until it has a choke hold on this nations
socio-political, ecnomic & religious life. They will never rest til they achieve their aims.

Unfortunately, Fiji is now in the process of bedding the enemy and if Christians are not awake to this, our nation will be become an Islamic state in a blink of an eye. well, in a blink of an eye, Muslims are in governing postions of authority already so anything can happen from now.

Does this mean that Muslims are evil. NO NO NO....muslims are not evil, but their agenda is!

"FIJI Law Society vice-president Tupou Draunidalo has told Radio New Zealand she will not be silenced after the interim Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, filed contempt charges against her.

Ms Draunidalo's comment on ABC television in May that lawyers had lost faith in the judiciary was criticised by some colleagues and prompted Mr Sayed-Khaiyum to file charges.
The interim attorney-general says the integrity of Fiji's judiciary is paramount and attacks on it cannot be taken lightly.

But Ms Draunidalo says she will continue to speak out about the state of Fiji's judicial system.
''From history, tyrants have always used this proceeding as a way to stifle opposition. It's just their attempt to shut me up because I've been vocal since December 5th. You might call me a fool but I really don't care if I'm harmed physically or otherwise. It doesn't matter. My life is cheap, I'm just one individual, there are many others and the idea lives on,'' Ms Draunidalo said on Radio New Zealand." fijilive.

They say you can never keep a good man down. That also can be said of Tupou Draunidalo.

No matter what attempts that the Illegal Interim Attourney General might do, by making a mountain out of mole hill, Tupou can never and will never be silenced. If one knows the ship is sinking, one will try every attempt to save those on board, even try to salvage whatever is left of the ship.

The IIAG attempts to discredit her and put her behind bars just shows what foolish thinking lurks in the puppet governmenst corridors. She has a good lawyer to back her up in court and thank God that there are still good lawyers left in our nation that will stand for something this puppet government lacks, " RIGHTEOUSNESS".

FICTU ON THE MOVE!

"The Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions has today changed its negotiation tactics after questioning the interim government on why it has allowed promotions within the Fiji Military Forces when it makes other civil servants suffer the burdens of the paycut.

It would be unfair of the IIG to penalise civil servants with paycuts while FMF continues to blatantly promote their own to senior positions. Thats downright obnoxious to say the least.

In a submission to the Interim Public Service Minister Poseci Bune today on why the five percent paycut should be restored, FICTU General Secretary Taniela Tabu says the promotions within the RFMF has reaffirmed their stance on the matter.

Thats great Mr. Tabu. Don't let your choke hold on this IIG loosen by any means. Keep them on their toes. Keep them guessing and make sure you take back what the devil has stolen!

However Military Spokesperson Major Neumi Leweni says the union has got its wires crossed. Leweni says the promotion in the RFMF does not come with an increase in pay, but with much more responsibility and accountability.

Yeah right.......we've heard that one before........lame excuse after lame excuse.......

After meeting with Bune earlier today no solution was found and FICTU's proposal on the restoration of the paycut based on the promotions within the RFMF will now be taken to cabinet for consideration.

FITCU wants the paycut restored by August this year, that the retirement age remain at 60 years and not 55 which is being implemented and the suspension of the partnership agreement be lifted immediately.

Thats right, GO FOR IT! Keep fighting for your rights till you get back all you lost. Let the retirement age stay at 60!

Police are currently questioning the man suspected to have been involved in the theft at the Interim Prime Ministers office over the weekend.Assistant Spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed that the man is in custody at the central police station and is being interrogated as investigations continue.

Well Watson, the mystery of the IIPM's stolen goods seems to be solved..........but then you never can tell with these people can you.....so much cover up and lies.......who knows this may just be another cover story to make them look good........

He also confirms that Police have recovered some of the missing items reported stolen from the PM's office and the suspect is expected to be charged tomorrow. "villagenews.

WHODUNIT? WHODIDIT?

"ALL staff members of the interim Prime Minister's office will be questioned over the theft of a laptop computer, mobile phone and a USB cable from Commander Voreqe Bainimarama's office.

Police spokesperson Corporal Tevita Suli confirmed this but said a statement would be issued later in the afternoon on developments in the investigation.
Police were able to lift fingerprints from the scene and are working on them for more leads.

The incident happened between Friday evening and Saturday noon.
There were no signs of forced entry into the interim Prime Minister's office. "

And the search is on.........

Well now they've found a soft drink bottle(sprite.....my favourite by the way) and scratch marks on the table.Finger prints too! Someone was not too careful......if the culprit left finger prints either

1. he was one dumb person

2. or he was a really dumb person.

The culprit must have been thirsty and took his bottle of sprite to finish it off inside the office.. He may have sat on that big black leather chair, placed his feet ontop of the table...... then he may have wanted to cut his toenails because they were jamming in his boots so he sharpens his little ....y'know, those little knives thingy jack knives I think they are called, on the table so he can just chop off his jammed toenails.....that accounts for the scratch marks on the PM's table.......

Or, those scratch marks could be a cryptic message......some kind of code......to who?....Don't ask me...I'm not the Police.......

ILLEGAL INTERIM PM'S STOLEN LAPTOP!

"THE interim Prime Minister's office was broken into and a laptop, a mobile phone and other items were stolen.
Police say they are investigating the break-in which happened on the weekend.

The Prime Minister's office is located on the fourth floor of the New Wing of Government Buildings.

According to local radio reports, the Permanent Secretary in the interim Prime Minister's office, Pramesh Chand, says entry points into the building is now being looked into.

Police say they are still investigating and no arrests have been made.
Comments have been sought from the Mr Chand." Fiji Times online today.

Well let's just say that what goes round comes round. Whatever you sow , one day you will reap.

Whatever you do to others will be done to yourself.

The thieves seem to be wanting to find out whats in that computer......like a tit for tat incident with New Zealand lawyer, Janet Mason whose house was broken into by some "thugs", who got violent with her husband.

What I know of thugs is that they commit violent crimes to look for money to keep up with their drug habits or to buy crates of alcohol.

But the thugs appearing on the scene now seem to be a liitle more devious. They break into homes and steal laptops and never steal cash.......amazing!

The value must be in whats contained in the laptops......top secret information.......names of snitches?..........a hit list?..........more secret plans to destablise the country........Moving the Country Backward" plans?.......who knows. Only the ones who stole THAT laptop will know....but then again.....did they get the RIGHT laptop? Thats the million dollar question!

Then what of the mobile? All the phone numbers of all the important Illegal Interim Cabinet, all the HOT SHOTS numbers will be on that phone.......Who desperately wants those numbers?

Then the next question is, "whodunnit" or "whodidit" ? Fourth floor, hmmm IIPM's office.......hmmmm, looks to me like an inside job! But thats where my Sherlock Holmes type investigative questioning ends.

Only time will tell what will become of this incident.

PEOPLE OF THE WAY MUST ARISE!

So what can the Christian church do in times of a national crisis apart from fasting, praying, blogging and attending church faithfully each Sunday:

I believe that the greatest resource the Christian church has is it's people. And not just any people.

They have to be people of vision, of compassion, of righteousness.People with the knowledge & skills. People with financial means. People with influence. People in strategic positions of authority with the capabilities at their disposal to assist others in need!

These people must pool their resources and skills together to formulate and implement plans to help build the lives of people with in their territories that are suffering needlessly through this crisis.

They can formulate and implement plans for:

1. Providing skills based training to unemployed youths in area such as
agriculture such as farming, cattle, poultry, piggery, fishing or

in office work ie computer literacy, driving licenses, simple accountancy, banking etc.

2.Assist in securing employment opportunities for those who have lost employment.

3. Provide small business training for women, horticulture, garment, crafts, catering etc.

4.Providing the necessary capital to kick start the businesses.

5.Opening of "Soup Kitchens" or Resource Centres where needy, people who have been incapacitated by physical disabilites that can collect daily/weekly/monthly rations of groceries.

The Christian church is to be the CONSCIENCE of a nation. If things are going awry, the church should be recieving the warning signals and spring into action, not BURY IT'S HEAD UNDER THE CLOAK OF,

"EVERYTHINGS OK, JUST PRAY AND IT WILL GO AWAY, JUST STAY IN THE CHURCH AND KEEP PREACHING TO OURSELVES UNTIL WE ARE BLUE IN THE FACE. LET THE NATION GO TO THE DOGS ANYWAY, IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS."

When the nation of Israel was going to be destroyed by it's enemies, a young Jewish woman arose, Esther, who in her strategic capacity as Queen of Persia made plans to save her people.

For Christians out there who in the midst of this crisis, facing dwindling savings, loss of jobs, loss of regular income, rise in food prices etc etc......the picture is not all doom and gloom though.

We the people of the WAY have never really been worried about devaluation of the Fiji dollar.

Yes, we've planted more in the back yard garden, ate more seafood (that we caught) but other than that, for most of us who no means of putting money into off shore accounts....we've never been without.....i mean desperatley Somalia, Sudan kind of without!

Amazingly, God has always provided for the tea, the bread, even butter, milk & sugar through

other people of the WAY. He has also provided peanut butter, jam & loads of US, Canadian, Australian & New Zealand $$$ through relatives and other people of the WAY living abroad!

I have lived through four coups and am pleading with heaven......NO MORE COUPS PEASE LORD! But i have never had to BEG, STEAL OR BORROW food or money from anyone when the times got tough.

I've seen God providing for me and my household faithfully through trying times.

The Holy Book says,

Fiji Political Crisis - Workings of the Orange Smokescreen
At a recent meeting of a Prayer Meeting Group held here in Suva, there was special revelation from God of very interesting developments in our spiritual realm.

It was revealed that the current political impasse facing the Government and Military are the workings of the Masonic Spirit called the Orange Order Smokescreen. [The Orange Order was founded in Ireland in 1795 to wage war against Democracy].

The Apostle Paul had forewarned us in Ephesians 6:12 "that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and [evil] spirits in the heavenly places".

As Christians we must resist the current temptation being made by the Devil to make us believe that everything is out of control with the Government leadership of the Nation. This is exactly what these Masonic spirits of the Orange Order are now seeking to achieve.

In fact in the revelation it was clearly mentioned that the spirit of iniquity is at work amongst us but there is one that is constraining it [2Thesolanians 4]- the Holy Spirit of God.

“This nation shall experience a cloud of the Glory of God, the anointing coming down upon this nation like a thick cloud filled with rain, filled with great potential and it will come down and it will blanket all the islands like a cloud, and it won’t come and just wash across and go, but it will settle and it will continue to fall. The rain of God’s presence will fall on this Nation in a powerful way.

And the reviving of the Spirit…literally within five years, this Nation will be awash with great Revival. One side to another, this nation will literally be under the blanket of the move with the Spirit of God like you’ve never seen before. Just about every denomination will be touched…only those that are very resistant will hold out against it, but whole denominations will be swept into the move of the Spirit.

There will be unprecedented unity amongst the church together in Fiji. There will literally be a wonder to people of other nations. You will have many people visit your islands, not because of the beauty, not to be a tourist, but because the presence of God resting on the islands.

It wont be one little spot here or there, but it will be like a blanket that sits over the nation and the Spirit of God will move back and forward. Sometimes it’ll be so intense in another city and then it’ll move and come and sweep here and there and then it will move round and the Spirit of God will literally be like waves across the island back and forth around the island but together you will be under the blanket of God’s blessing.

But a number of things will happen during that time. One will be that a man of sedition, a man of scheming and he will come into prominence. Before you know it, he will have position of influence in the nation, but he’ll be a man of sedition and he will bring conflicts.

There will be time when you will have civil unrest on the streets and it won’t be massive across the nation but there will civil unrest in some parts of the nation and there will even be some bloodshed.

This man will rise very quickly but because of the anointing of the Spirit blanketing the island and the church being in revival the church will rise up and call and sound the alarm. When this happens this, man who begins to cause unrest in the streets, the church will literally flock together in huge prayer concerts, great prayer gatherings and will break the power of that thing.

Where in the natural, the papers will be predicting doom and gloom, they will break the power of that thing and bring it to naught and the revival will continue on. In fact, because of that, many people will turn to the Lord in that hour and will come to the Lord…in the great move of the Spirit.

You will know these things are happening because both in the natural, God will show you things and in the Spirit, you will be able to recognize them. Within maybe two to three years, may be in the next few years, one of your sporting teems don’t know which one, but one of them will gain great prominence.

They will win a great event beyond what they were expected to win and they will come back to Fiji and there will be great celebrations and they’ll be national heroes. You the church, watch!

When that happens, God’s telling you as a sign, because at the same time as that happens I saw this vision of the nation celebrating this great victory and it was almost like in the middle of their celebrations, something happened in the nation and the joy turned to mourning.

The Lord didn’t show how it was, but it seemed like there was disaster or something that happened and the laughter stopped mid sentence and they began to mourn. But out of that turn around they would be rising, up a cry up to God from the nation. Even those outside the church will cry. They will be praying together in public. “God help us”!

Out of that will come a great release even again of people being led to finding the Lord. There was a tremendous awakening starting to happen amongst the people of this nation out of religion, out of Hinduism, out of culture, an awakening concerning things of the Spirit of God.

You watch that continue in the next few years in this nation.

Your economy will continue to increase over the years and there’ll be a sense of, well, “This is wonderful!” and then, there’ll come a crash and your dollar, I literally saw your dollar plummet.

And again things in the natural, God turns them around and uses them to bring favor to the church and the Government will literally turn to the church, not those churches that are playing games, but those that are full of the Holy Spirit, who has shown they love the nation.

The Government will turn to the church and say, “We want you take over this area of ministry to the broken. We want you (and the Government will begin to favor churches) to minister to the homeless to the children, to those that are broken.” Churches will be raised up who will have great strength to be able to minister to the broken and hurting in the nation.

God is going to raise up across this nation many men and women that will go out from this nation. The fire of God will be upon them and they will literally be sent forth from this place. You will have people that will go to nations that in the past have sent missionaries here. You will send missionaries to these nations.

I literally saw, out of Fiji a great like volcano erupt and many fiery arrows, people alive with the Spirit of God being literally translated, transported, transferred, removed from this place and sent in another place and God would cause them there to take the anointing and the fire of God that’s on them and begin to burn in other places. Some of you already have a burden for other nations.

Listen the time is here to set yourselves towards those places. God wants to raise up men in this place in the next few years, that have learnt how to live under the cloud of his presence so that when you go the cloud will go with you and places where they have had a little rain of the Spirit, just little showers, you will take the cloud that rests on this nation, you will take that cloud and it will rest on that place also and it shall continue to rain and spread across the nations.

I saw planes flying, crisscrossing across the islands, the airlines industry will have to put on more flights because of the revival. People are going to want to go from town to town, city to city, to where God is moving and they will come en masse to a place and celebrate and then they’ll go somewhere else.

There’ll be more flights coming in. God will bring ministers that you haven’t invited, but the Spirit of God will put it upon their heart, “I must go to Fiji!” I must be a part of what’s happening there.

I must sow the gifting that God’s given me into that place.”

I don’t think I’ve prophesied over a nation quite as significantly concerning a revival, as I am even here today for Fiji. Wherever I go, I prophesy this revival and blessings in many nations, but I feel a stirring about Fiji.

I feel like God is saying, “There is something significant that is going to take place in those islands, for you are prepared to abandon that which has been for that which is coming. You are prepared to embrace the move of the Spirit with abandonment that not many other places are,

“The Lord says, “I am going to cause a people that will rise up that will literally shake off the shackles of their past, of their upbringing, of their culture and begin to dance with joy and celebrate the Kingdom of God, manifest in their midst, with an incredible liberty and freedom.

“You’re going to have meetings that go all night as the Spirit of God comes upon you.
There’ll be some meetings where you’ll just sit literally sit under the power of God for hours.

Nobody does anything but the glory of God rests upon the place.

Just a few hours later a song will begin and it will go on for hours, singing and worship, and the Spirit of God is going to completely dominate the church scene in this nation. Dominate…that is the best word the Spirit of God is going to come and dominate the Spiritual arena of this nation.

There are some leaders that are currently in leadership in this nation.

You wake up one morning and in the next couple of years and they’ll be gone…just gone, just no longer in key leadership because they have not allowed the Spirit of God to move. God is not going to bow to anybody.

When God marks out a nation, there are times when the river begins to run and goes around the rocks, but as it gains strength, it sweeps all before it.

Some of those rocks are monuments to men’s best efforts and as the Spirit of God has begun to run, it has gone around. But you watch! In the next couple of years as the tide of the Spirit gains momentum, it will literally sweep all before it. Some of those things that have been strong monuments will literally… you’ll wake up one morning and they won’t be there because God will have decided to bring His agenda into focus in that place.

I see God taking off the robes that you have worn of ministry of yesterday of a certain rank. I see God taking it off and putting on a garment of leadership of a different rank. God wants to promote, even here, many of you. He wants to promote you to a new level, another rank this season.

When the Spirit of God breathes afresh in nations, it awakens new heroes, new leaders.
God often doesn’t use yesterday’s leaders, and yesterday’s heroes. He looks for people that want to be promoted to carry a greater anointing for this hour.

One of my greatest prayers in this hour is “Father, please use me to carry your anointing.” I don’t presume on anything that I had said yesterday. Oh, I did for a while. I said, “God, I’ve got a good church. I’ve grown up in this stuff.

I know it all.” God said, “No, no. I don’t count on those things in the day of revival. I count on those whose hearts are hungry for more.” I began to pray, “God, please consider me worthy to carry this revival.” God said,” If you’ll let go of everything else and take off the robes of yesterday’s achievements, I can entrust you with greater things, yet, by My Spirit.”

A DOUBLE MINDED ILLEGAL INTERIM REGIME!

Front page headlines in the Fiji Times today, "TOURISM WILL RECIEVE $3.8 MILLION - STATE MAY GIVE MORE.

" The Interim Regime has changed it's mind and will now inject the $3.8 million into the tourism sector as requested initially by tourism stakeholders. Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama confirmed this yesterday.

He said the industry had asked for $3.8 million but the state could give more. The funds were requested for the marketing campaigns overseas to help lure tourists back to Fiji. He said if it was the way to improve the state of the economy, funds would be forthcoming.

"We will be getting the Interim Minister of Finance to give the money to the tourism industry", he said. Fiji Islands Hotel & Tourism Associatiopn president Dixon Seeto welcomed the development which he labelled as "very reassuring". The $3.8 million was sought by the Fiji Visitors Bureau and the Tourism Action Group.

"These are the funds FVB and TAG have been waiting for and I hope he gives us that money." he said. "Given the fact that the tourism situation has not improved, tourism recovery is not to expectation.

" We foresee that the FVB will need to look at destinational and strategic marketing in the latter part of the year to keep the industry going."

Financial pundits have advised that the revival of the tourism industry was Fiji's quickest way to reverse the economic decline."

Our prayers may just have been answered people! However it is so sad to note that just a month ago the Illegal Interim Finance Minister was not willing to give that $3.8 million to the FVB and TAG saying that they had to take responsibility for their own marketing.

This change in tune may augur well for the tourism sector but may not go down to well with the man that holds the nations purse strings. I am of the view that he does not want the tourism industry to prosper and was gunning for more funds to be ploughed into the ailing sugar industry.

It is common knowledge that the Illegal Minister of Finance would rather see funds ploughed into the sugar cane belt , as a ploy to secure votes for the next elections. Nice try, but it seems divison is in the camp and there will be alot of unhappy chappies in this turn of events.

While we clap our hands in glee, it looks like a the Illegal Interim regime is caving in on itself. They have lost the plot. They are divided and surely their house of cards will fall!

The Holy Book says, "How can two walk together unless they agree?"

The way decisons are being made by this regime, looks like there is a lot of disagreement in the Illegal Interim Regime camp!

We can thank God for the change of heart. This is testament that God hears the cry of the hurting and he is answering the prayers of the saints in need (especially those in the tourism sector).

Keep pounding heaven people! The answer is rolling in like waves of glory. While things may seem dismal now......God will turn it about for our good if we keep persevering in faith!

THE LONG SEARCH FOR THE IDEAL!

Every generation has pursued the dream of a utopian society. The inspirational force leading to the inception of philosophical ideas, social infrastructures and even religions has been the desire for the perfect world.

This is the central theme in man’s search for the ideal. Fiji is no exception!

In the recent past a certain individual and his band of brothers have come up with answers to all our problems once and for all, or so it seems!

They would eradicate fear, poverty, hatred and other social ills and create a pain free world of peace, love, joy and harmony for all the inhabitants. Far from reality!

The concept called “ideology” was developed out of this search and desire for the idyllic world. Ideology is basically the formulation of ideas and thoughts that have been developed, tested and retested over time and can also be defined as philosophies or ways of thinking.

Some of these philosophies have become the foundation of theories and ideologies that have in turn been the creators of systems of governing communities, societies, cities, nations and even the world.

It has been said, “And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.”

But Truth taken to the extreme becomes error and this error has led to the formation of ideologies of injustice, destruction, oppression, poverty depression and social terror.

Over thousands of years, a variety of labels have emerged, submerged then reemerged from these “erred” ways of thinking.

Some labels are very familiar to us today: imperialism, socialism, communism, dictatorship, humanism, deism, democracy, monarchy and communal living. Many of these have been the result of numerous social experiments of the past.

And it seems no matter how hard we have tried to recreate our world this utopia has been further from our grasp.

It seems previous attempts in 1987 and 2000 have only given rise to the ideology of “individual freedom” to carry out anything and everything we are capable of doing to make it “better”.

Those events have inscribed in this fragile generation a coup culture that strives in the concept of “self-determination” and “a just society” as “the democratic ideal” and though this is the most civil form of national government, even this has not manifested the utopia we all dream of.

This may sound pessimistic but our nation has been, still is and always will be plagued with inequality, racism, prejudice, injustice, corruption, jealousy, suspicion, competition, abuse, neglect and of course the ever widening gap between the “haves” and “have-nots”.

We are prisoners of our pursuit of the perfect world and the so called “clean-up” campaign has not only magnified these insecurities but also accelerated our demise.

The pursuit of utopia is a universal truth but the difference is the means and methods we execute to find what has eluded us.

This pursuit is not a choice but has become a necessity; it has become personal vendetta for some as well as a corporate retaliation for others. I challenge you with this line of thought: if thirst implies the need for water, hunger implies the need for food, tiredness the need for rest, does bad governance necessitate a military takeover!?

The Illegal Interim Prime Minister should not consider it unfair that New Zealand is extending it's travel ban on the regime.

Like an old scratched record, he continues the same old song. In an interview with Fijilive, he said,

"How can they claim to remain focused on encouraging a rapid return to constitutional government in Fiji when they are 'hell bent' on punishing credible people who are coming forward to help bring about necessary changes to move us forward?

The Illegal Interim Prime Minister seems to be blind to the multitude of criminal acts of his illegal regime. Maybe he fails to realise that the illegal overthrow of an elected government is WRONG for whatever reason. He continues to condemn New Zealand for being "insensitive and hurtful to the people of Fiji", yet his actions has caused our crippled the economy, loss of jobs, decline in tourist dollars, increase of imports, decrease of exports.

His illegal actions of December 5th was INSENSITIVE & HURTFUL to the people of Fiji. A coup is never an answer to a nations problem. All it does is it breeds more anger, hurt, violence & death.

The Illegal Prime Minister needs to get off his sanctimonious high chair and GET REAL with the people of Fiji.

The people of Vatukoula are almost dying of starvation. This was caused by his cruelty and insensitivity. He is a despot with an agenda to clean Fiji. Unfortunately, this clean up may go on forever while the ordinary citizen will be held at ransom.

New Zealand and Australia must put on the squeeze until the regime is starved of finances and aid. Starving them seems to be the way out......

" ACTING Police Commissioner Romanu Tikotikoca has been unceremoniously removed from office, a month before his contract was to expire.
Mr Tikotikoca confirmed to PACNEWS that he received his letter from the Constitutional Offices Commission at the weekend.

''The letter said that I was to vacate office with immediate effect from Monday 2 July 2007,'' ACP Titotikoca said.

Tikotikoca was offered the police commissioner's job whilst serving as chief security for Gold Ridge Mining in Solomon Islands.

He took up office in February this year as acting police commissioner.
Last month, the substantative appointment was given to military deputy commander, Esala Teleni.

A senior police officer who did not want to be named told PACNEWS the removal of the acting police chief and other senior police officers ''tantamounts to a coup within the police force.''
Pacnews understands that three senior police officers, at acting police commissioner level have also been suspended. "

Acting Police Commish, Romanu Tikotikoca's removal from office one month before his official contract expires was uncalled for. This move by the Constitutional Offices Commission was unecessary incident, however the higher ups may have been "ordered " to have him removed due to his vocal stand against the FICAC's chaotic cleanup rampage through the Police Force.

This may not have gone down lightly with the Illegal Interim Government, therefore the sudden departure of Tikotikoca shows us that will not allow anyone to stand in their way.

What a sad and trying time for our nation to see good men removed from office! They called him away from his lucrative job in the Solomon's, in a bid to offer him the top cop job but changed their minds in the process as they saw he was taking an ANTI COUP stand.

MYTHIC CONSTITUTIONALISM:
WHITHER FIJI’S COURSE IN JUNE, 2007?

Paper presented at the Workshop The Fiji Coup – Six Months On, organized by the State, Society and Governance in Melanesia Program and the Pacific Centre, at the Australian National
University, Canberra, on 5 June 2007 Reflecting on the statement made by the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Commodore J V Bainimarama, upon seizing power and ousting the Multi-party Government of Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase on 5 December, 2006 one is bemused by some of the Commander’s rhetoric. In his remarks
he stated inter alia:

“… The RFMF could have carried out unconstitutional and illegal activities, but had not done so and will not do so. It believes in the rule of law and shall adhere to the Constitution. It not only adheres to the rule of law and Constitution, but more importantly believes in adherence to the spirit of the law and the Constitution…”

There appear to have been three main reasons for the military intervention: alleged widespread corruption and abuse of office reflected in the military’s oft-repeated threat to clean up’ the Government; the barely disguised hostility between the Government and the military over the former’s alleged involvement with and condonation of those associated with storming Parliament and taking hostages in May 2000 ; and the expanded role the military saw for itself following those events.

The Commander and his close coterie of advisers saw the military as the ultimate guarantor of the peace, echoed constantly in public statements and private discussions. With the military arrogating for itself the role of guardian and protector, the Police Force has become increasingly demoralised. The reformed and rebuilding of morale implemented by Commissioner Andrew Hughes have dissipated gradually since his departure in November last year.

The military has blurred the boundaries between policing and security roles at the cost of Police independence and autonomy. Paradoxically, the business community has been quick to embrace the expanded reach of the military. They welcomed the presence of checkpoints and the involvement of the military in policing as having a salutary effect on crime.

Such tunnel vision is understandable but shortsighted. There has been a real undermining of the rule of law in the actions of the military. Neither has crime diminished, it has simply relocated
elsewhere. The breaches in human rights since the coup have been on a wide scale culminating in the deaths of 41 year old Nimilote Verebasaga and 19 year old Sakiusa Rabaka. There have been two related objectives.

The first was to intimidate and frighten opponents of the military. In this regard, skills acquired in soldiering abroad have been deployed for such ends. The second objective was to consolidate their position further by assuming policing in functions in the months after the coup.
They readily attended to inappropriate calls for their intervention from many Indo Fijians, and other citizens frustrated or dissatisfied with the level of police investigations on their behalf. The helplessness of the ordinary citizen was heightened by the inexplicable stance assumed by the Fiji Human Rights Commission in (FHRC) favour of the military. That has continued to the present day.

It was the Director of the FHRC who issued an elaborate justification for the military’s actions of 5 December 2006. One that has emboldened and sustained the military in its peculiar understanding of what adherence to the Constitution means. As self-appointed guardian of the public interest, the military and the Commander were able to enlist a disparate coalition to their cause. After the 2001 elections to the eve of the coup, the military played a generally useful if somewhat vocal part in general debate on issues of national interest and concern.

There is little doubt this helped to moderate the Soqosoqo Duavata Ni Lewenivanua (SDL) Government’s inclination to pander to the nationalist and more extremist elements in its
midst. When the Commander finally mounted the coup, he had a ready constituency beyond the command structure of his officers and foot soldiers.

This consisted of the Fiji LabourParty and a large majority of the Indo-Fijian community, scarred by the events of May, 2000 and by sense of alienation from the SDL Government because of some of is policies. A majority of the minority communities also felt likewise i.e. marginalised and deprived of opportunities to benefit from Government assistance. It also included the Roman Catholic Church hierarchy, a significant section of civil society, elements in the judiciary and the professional classes as well as a portion of the private sector.

The Interim Government formed by the Commander, after his appointment by the President as Interim Prime Minister on 5 January 2007, is revealing. While multiethnic in character, it has
limited Fijian support. Those Fijian politicians who are in the Interim Cabinet were unsuccessful candidates at the last elections in May, 2006.

There is only one member of the SDL Government represented and he is there by default. The Commander may well have had good reason for excluding the ousted SDL Government, but it undermines his legitimacy. The Interim Government is unfortunately perceived by many in the Fijian heartland as the handmaiden of Mr Chaudhry. Many Fijians are convinced this was an indo Fijian coup.

Still others, think it was a Muslim coup because of the association with a few prominent Muslims. These perceptions, even if mistaken, pass for reality from which conclusions are drawn. The actual explanation is less inflammatory: the interest of various individuals and groups happen to coincide with the militaries. It was both opportunistic and principled, a few believing they were acting in the Nations interest. The effect the Commander has had in the short time he has had centre stage is profound. No other Fijian Leader, Rabuka and Apolosi R Nawai included, has so directly confronted the Fijian establishment and remained seemingly unscathed.

He has in turn scorned the SDL Government, the Methodist Church and the Bose Levu Vakaturaga (BLV). He has had verbal jousts with those of chiefly rank. In ousting the Qarase Government and in the arbitrary dismissals and removals of Government Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Statutory Corporation CEOs and members of Statutory and Corporation Boards, the Commander has guttered the Fijian middle classes. These are the ranks from which Fijian leaders would be expected to emerge.

For the future, he has ensured a sense of festering resentment that will be visited on the body politic in time to come. The suspension of the BLV, following its refusal to endorse the President’s nominee for Vice President on 11 April 2007, demonstrates further the Commander’s revolutionary status in the cataclysmic sense of the term.

The BLV itself is in many senses a symbol. In treating it in such a cavalier and contemptuous manner, the Commander exposed the facade of its authority. This has compounded the erosion of traditional authority structures. That may not be such a bad thing, replete as it is with shibboleths and anachronisms which need to be cleared.

And what of this brave new world upon which the Commander, the military and the Interim Government are embarked? One in which Fiji emerges as a tolerant multicultural,
multi-religious society. Where all its parts are comfortable with themselves and peacefully integrated with each other. It is a laudable goal. But can we be forced to embrace each other within months and years, when the process of change takes at least a generation? Asserting it is
one thing, delivering that outcome quite another.

Removing communal voting and ethnic categorization is merely the beginning of the facilitative measures to be taken. They will not in themselves assure the desired result. Demographics and continuing emigration by other communities mean an ever increasing indigenous proportion of the population. Irrespective of how the electoral boundaries are drawn, it is likely that a
Fijian- dominated political party will form the next elected Government.

What will the Commander and his fellow travellers do then? Many Fijians remain enamoured with the concept of the Indigenous Claims Tribunal and the Qoliqoli legislation. It resonates with what they believe indigenous rights comprise. As or rationale of the Reconciliation, Tolerance and Promotion of National Unity Bill, that has been made more topical in the light of the military’s potentially treasonous conduct on 5 December, 2006.

In its engagement with the Eminent Persons Group from the Forum and the European Commission, the Interim Government has stipulated a three year period as the timeline for elections. This to be preceded by a census and an electoral re distribution on non-ethnic lines. Reading between the lines from various statements attributed to the Commander and the
Interim Minister for Finance, one senses that both would rather an even longer period. However, real politik obliges them to appear to accommodate the proposals of our neighbours and friends.

The longer the period to elections, the less likely the Commander and Mr Chaudhry feel the SDL will return to the treasury benches. We have already canvassed the reasons
why this reasoning is flawed. In fact, the apologists for the coup among civil society support the calls in some quarters that there be less haste for elections.

They argue other initiatives must first be implemented to ensuring a more equitable society in order to have a solid foundation for democracy. This presupposes hat there is some requirement for social engineering of sorts to onstruct a democratic frame work. The irony that these
measures are to be implemented by usurpers with a dubious andate, which are better left to an elected government, is lost on those aplogists.

The centre piece of Interim Governments Legislative agenda is the Independent Commission Against Corruption Promulgation 2007. It was enacted by the President under Section 85 of the Constitution which nominally vests executive power in him. The High Court will be ruling in due course on its constitutionality following legal questions referred to the High Court in a recent case the Commission was purporting to prosecute. Leaving aside that issue for present
purposes, the capacity of the Interim Government to enact such legislation is a valid
consideration.

An Executive whose mandate rests not in the popular will but on the force of arms has no authority to do so. The Commander relied on the doctrine of necessity to sanction the actions taken by the military on 5 December 2006. It is trite law that the doctrine is of limited application and only authorizes defacto rulers to do that which is administratively
necessary without more.

It matters not that the Commander restored executive authority to the President on 4 January,2007. The principle still applies because the Interim Government
indirectly derives its authority from the coup. It and its legal advisers must be held to account for the legal fallacies they have so egregiously asserted since December 2006.

Despite these misgivings, the stated intentions of the military, now championed by the Interim Government to ‘clean up’ the Government, statutory bodies and corporations have
resonated widely. There is a profound sense of anger in the community, among all ethnic groups, at deep seated corruption, cronyism, nepotism and abuse of office. However, apart from the work of the Commission, the arbitrary dismissals and removals that have been an integral part of this initiative have been misconceived.

A majority of those targeted were not at fault. The mistake of a few was a close association with
the previous Government. For others, it was being singled out by the Commander as potential sources of dissent. In six months of much publicity, and even more posturing, very few
people have been proceeded against. This from a military that has obdurately resisted any effort to investigate the deaths in custody of Counter Revolutionary Warfare soldiers in
November, 2000, the full disclosure of the RFMF Regimental Funds and the recent deaths
Verebasaga and Rabaka in military custody.

The military cannot demand transparency and accountability from others, while resisting the application of a like standard for itself to its credit, the Interim Government has withdrawn the
Emergency Regulations (the Regulations) with effect from midnight 31 May, 2007. Although we are not privy to the military’s intelligence reports, their sense of insecurity was obviously acute. Given their monopoly on ammunition and ability to react rapidly to any situation, the continuation of the Regulations appears to have been to reinforce their position vis á vis the general population rather than for stability.

Meanwhile the Interim Government has recently proposed a high level Council and secretariat heralding a process of engagement with the wider community (as represented by key
parties in civil society and the private sector). What is envisaged at the end of several months consultations is a charter that reflects the broad principles upon which our future
governance is to be based.

The concept per se has some merit. However, the structure is cumbersome and there is a very real doubt that the voices of ordinary people will be heard. There are also continuing
concerns about the legitimacy and mandate of those convening the gathering. Is this a genuine effort at drawing the people of Fiji together? Or is it merely an attempt by the Interim
Government and its cohorts to cloak themselves in some mantle of popular acclaim?

Moreover, the Interim Government has given little in return about from the withdrawal of the
Regulations. There appears to be divided opinion on this issue, although my sense is that the doubters appear more persuasive. The process is as critical as the outcome. However,
one has not heard anything from either the Commander or his senior Ministers about engaging their opponents. If this were to become another talkfest, where the Interim government
preaches to the converted and is reinforced in its convictions, an opportunity for constructive dialogue and possible reconciliation would have gone begging.

Where the military and the Interim Government may have gone astray is in the scale of their objectives. In a relatively short space of time, whether it is two, three or five years is irrelevant,
they wish to remake this country. It is a worthy ambition but unrealistic in the circumstances. Conducting a census and redrawing the electoral boundaries on non-ethnic terms are
huge tasks in themselves. As are the reform of the public service, the removal of corruption as well as the restoration of the economy.

To envisage the beginnings of greater interethnic integration several years hence seems to be an exercise in sublime optimism. Merely mouthing the rhetoric among the converted does not transform the concepts into reality. In asserting his vision of Fiji, the Commander has also alienated Fijian religious leaders who have great influence over their followers. They will be reinforced by upwardly mobile professionals and traditionalists offended by the diminution of affirmative action policies. Together they will either distance themselves or circumscribe involvement from the Interim Government’s policy of engagement.

As for inter-ethnic relations, this coup has seen little of the overt racism and tensions that followed the previous coups. The Fijian community has accepted the overthrow in sullen silence. Many Indo Fijians see it as a measure of poetic justice for the indignities they suffered previously. Some of their leaders have expressed support for the military’s actions. It is a reflection of how little we know each other. How will this play out in the future? What will probably happen, is that there will be no inter ethnic reprisals but Fijians will more strongly endorse indigenously-oriented policies in the government they elect.

Political unity will not be the problem it has been, because of the preponderance of Fijian numbers. The key to the Interim Government’s survival rests on two factors: the performance of the economy and the holding of general elections. Should the former improve by the end of the 2007, the pressure on the interim Government will ease slightly. However, this eventuality is debatable at this point. The public service unions appear to have muted their calls for industrial action over the five percent wage and salary reductions and the lowering of the retirement age to fifty-five (55). The injection of funds into the sugar industry, assuming political targets are met, will be a real fillip to the economy.

The electorate will be composed as long as it is satisfied the Interim Government is
putting in place the necessary structures for the elections to be held. It would even be prepared to allow it some leeway. However, the watchwords are commitment and movement.
Even were the economy to worsen, the electorate world remain quiescent as long as it believed the Interim Government was genuine about delivering elections within reasonable
timeframes. In hindsight the military and the Interim Government’s legal advisers, and by that
reference is made to those in the shadows behind the Interim Attorney-General, would have
been better advised to have abrogated the Constitution.

The legal gymnastics one is obliged to perform, all the while chanting the Constitution is intact like a mantra, would test a contortionist. The dilemma is that the legal apologists and their
collaborators in the military wished to depart from the Constitution without breaching it. We are still continuing on this ‘Alice in Wonderland’ journey.

In the meantime, the Courts are at once operating normally as in trying criminal and civil cases, and coming under siege as well. The Chief Justice remains suspended on as yet unspecified charges. The appointment of the Tribunal to conduct the inquiry is still awaited. The Acting Chief Justice was appointed in dubious circumstances by an improperly constituted Judicial Services Commission (JSC). The JSC for its part continues to make appointments despite the fact that its status may well be suspect.

And appointees of the new regime are hearing challenges to the legal order post 5
December 2006. It is a very untidy state of affairs with little prospect of early resolution.
This retrospect ends where it began: with the military. The genus of the 5 December 2006 coup lies in the first one perpetrated almost two decades earlier.

It is disingenuous for Sitiveni Rabuka to distinguish his on the basis it was some how intrinsically different whatever the reason. No coup against a democratically-elected Government can ever be justified, unless the regime concerned is inflicting genocide or some other heinous crime against its own people.

The present Interim Government may well acquire legitimacy in the Courts through
the doctrine of acquiescence, but it would have established a new legal order in the process. To continue to assert that the takeover of 5 December 2006 constituted an adherence to the
Constitution is not only absurd but delusional.

The only gratifying aspect of this travesty, absent all the elaborate justifications, is the belated recognition by many Fijians that the only appropriate habitat for the military is the barracks. There being no external security threats as such, the military is now a law unto itself.

Any meaningful attempt to prevent any further coups must deal with this issue. The sense of puissance conferred by the possession of arms is an intoxicating feeling we must cure. It not we are destined to travel this weary path repeatedly in the future, periodic hostages to the messianic ambitions of one military officer after another.

The ordinary people of our country, whose dreams are for the betterment of themselves and their families, deserve more.

WRONG ASSUMPTIONS!

Captain Esala Teleni said "The actions of opposition to the military's cause will only strengthen and harden the Republic of Fiji Military Force."

These are the words of RFMF Deputy Commander Captain Esala Teleni while addressing the 175 new military recruits at the RFMF Passing Out Parade at the Army Training Group in Nasinu.

Captain Teleni also reiterated that the objectives of its actions will be achieved before Fiji goes to the polls and that the RFMF will not be bullied or swayed by any opposition forces.

The Police Commissioner Designate also said that the RFMF has always been a supportive power to the state and the defender of Fiji's sovereignty, its people and interests.

Captain Teleni's parting message to the young soldiers was that one's personal integrity and values always form the real basis of success. " fijilive.com

Captain Teleni should be reminded that most of the new recruits are in the army because there are no other jobs available to them in the country. An army job is the only option left for desperate young men and women, seeking to find employment and a stable income. However, Teleni is wrong in assuming that with more opposition, the army will be more hardened.

In fact, it is common knowledge that majority of soldiers are against the actions of the military and there are divisions within. One must never count one's chickens before they hatch. The very army that is slowly destroying this nation, will in effect, turn against itself.......yet again!

NAMOSI VIEWS ON CHARTER NOT SOUGHT!

Fiji's Namosi province claims it was not invited by the interim regime to make submissions on the People's Charter. Roko Tui Namosi, Samisoni Tuilawaki today said they have yet to receive any invitation from the interim government.

"To date nothing has come to us and we will not be making submissions if we don't receive any invitation," he told Fijilive.com. Out of the 150 letters sent out, 50 have responded.

Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Parmesh Chand said the proposed National Council for Building a Better Fiji has received a "good feedback" from the public.

"This is a good number of feedbacks, which is at least 33 per cent of those who received the letter," he said. "We now have to go through it and see what the content of the feedback is." Chand said that not all the respondents made positive comments.

"There are people who have reacted negatively and this will determine the acceptance for this council," he said. "The feedbacks are important in the whole process and its not that we are only after positive people."

The interim Government has proposed the People's Council to provide policy direction in the absence of a Parliament. The council, to consist of invited members from the civil society and private sector, will be headed by the Fiji President and interim Prime Minister.

I would urge the Roko Tui Namosi, to push for an invitation to view the Charter and make it's submissions as a Province. Indigenous Fijian landowners must not be kept in the dark about

the charter as it would affect their future. It is important for those who will be affected by the charter to be given a fair go at making submissions, even if they will be seen as negative.

IT IS THEIR RIGHT! ANYTHING LESS THAN THIS WILL BE SEEN AS AN ATTEMPT TO HOOD WINK, TO CON AND TO MAKE MAKE DECISIONS WITHOUT CONSULTING THE PEOPLE.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED BY THE INDIGENOUS POPULATION ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CHARTER DEALS WITH INDIGENOUS LAND ISSUES. THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO LET THIS GO!

Gavoka in Politics!

Former chief executive of the Fiji Islands Visitors Bureau, Viliame Gavoka has indicated an interest in politics stating he will contest the next elections under the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua banner. "I am an SDL man," he said in an interview with Fiji TV. "I have always been an SDL man and I believe very strongly in the SDL manifesto." The SDL party led government was deposed in a military coup in December 2006 but the party is already stating that they are ready for a comeback with the announcement of possible elections by mid 2009. Gavoka had announced his resignation yesterday said saying he wanted to "pursue personal interests". "I resigned because since December, I found it really hard to reconcile my beliefs and some of the hurts that I saw in the country and not being able to do anything about it," he said. Gavoka has been the head of the FVB for the last five years and still maintains that investment in tourism is the way forward for Fiji.

This is welcome news. Mr. Gavoka, a true son of Fiji, who has done his five year stint in the Tourism industry, has now resigned and wishes to take up politics to help the nation .

"Fiji's interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will need to show solid progress towards restoring democracy before Australia and the European Union would lift sanctions, Australian and EU ministers have said.

Reuters reports that the European Commissioner for External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner discussed Fiji with Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, at a meeting in Canberra yesterday. Both reportedly agreed that it was too early to relax sanctions.

"The most important thing is to see whether the commitment will materialise," Ferrero-Waldner told reporters. Ferrero-Waldner was referring to the commitment undertaken by Fiji’s interim regime that the country would go to the polls in early 2009.

The EU has said more than F$400 million ($250 million) worth of aid to Fiji would be either delayed or put at risk because of the December 2006 takeover, according to Reuters. Australia has also suspended part of its aid programme to Fiji and imposed travel bans on Bainimarama and members of his Government. Defence cooperation was also suspended.

Downer and Ferrero-Waldner said they were willing to offer financial and expert help for Fiji to hold its elections, but both maintain that the future of aid commitments relied on firm moves to restore democracy." fijilive.com

The best way to put a halt to the destruction of Democracy in our nation is to continue to impose sanctions on the Illegal Interim Government. We may suffer for a while but this serves us for the greater good, we must endure tough times in order for the nation to be restored to normalcy.

The stand by the EU & Australia no matter how tough for our economy is the only way to go.

They could not on one hand disagree verbally with the December coup and yet, continue to supply us with aid. This would show, they will continue to support any illegal takeover of an elected government and compromise their position.

This stand is welcomed by majority of anti coup supporters. The only way to deal with this situation is to starve them out of any finance.

The ball is now in the court of the IIG. Let's see if they will keep their promise to hold elections in 2009.

THE INVASION OF THE OZZIES!

LAND Force Commander Colonel Pita Driti is interested to know what kind of peace Australia is talking about in its suggestion that it might have to send troops to Fiji as peacekeepers.

He told Fiji Times Online this was just part of Australia's strategy to dominate the Pacific.
"They want this to happen in order to establish their presence in the Pacific. What I'd like to know is what peace are they talking about," Colonel Driti said.

Australian chief of staff Lieutenant General Peter Leahy told Australian Radio the Australian army stands ready to send peacekeepers to Fiji if they are asked.

General Leahy said the situation in Fiji following December 5 was unstable and the Australian army had to have a plan to counter it by sending in peacekeepers in the near future.
On local radio Driti warned that any peacekeeping mission to Fiji would be seen as an invasion and would be treated as such.

The Fiji Peacekeepers Association has labelled Lt-Gen Leahy's comments as naive and mischievous.

Methinks the Australian army knows very well what it is talking about. Mr. Driti should visit the villages and find out the heart of the people at grass roots. He should interview people at the markets, people in the slums, people from TAILEVU/REWA especially. The feelings of

He has no idea what is going on on the ground or he doesn't really care what people think. They have adopted the Tyrant approach ie, " Shut Up, don't say a word. We decide whats best for this country and everyone HAS to agree OR ELSE".

The Australian military knows that on the ground there is a silent rumble that can explode at any given moment. They don't want to be here to pick up the pieces. They want to help keep the peace.

"THE head of the Anti-Corruption Unit, Superintendent Nazir Ali, has said there will be no investigation into the military over regimental funds saying he was not aware of it.

When asked if the unit would investigate the military, Mr Ali asked for evidence and when told of the unresolved circumstances surrounding the regimental funds, said he did not have any evidence to launch an investigation.

There is CONCRETE EVIDENCE! But Mr. Nasir Ali may need to ask the IIPM where the missing files are?

"We don't just enter a scene without evidence. We have nothing concerning the regimental funds. We act on evidence and complaints. If there are investigations against the military in relation to fraud, we will investigate.

"I know the commander does not condone corruption or fraud, not even from the military," Mr Ali said.

If the Illegal Interim Prime Minister does not condone fraud or corruption, then he must PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS MOUTH IS and start the clean up from within his own back yard.

Earlier this week, outgoing acting Police Commissioner Romanu Tikotikoca reacted to a raid at police headquarters by a team from the unit saying if it was the standard of practice by FICAC investigators, the same should be done all government departments including the military.

His reaction is to be commended. At least someone is speaking out about the unfairness of of the actions of the FICAC team. If you clean up, CLEAN THEM ALL and start with the FMF please!

Mr Tikotikoca said inter-department communication were not fully exhausted before the raid was done on Thursday.

He said he did not receive complaints directly from complainants and that his job entailed investigating the circumstances surrounding any complaint the unit received.

Radio New Zealand International reported in December 2005 the military continued to defy successive High Court, Appeal Court and Supreme Court orders to allow the Auditor- General's Office to review its regimental funds.

If Mr. Ali and his FICAC would do well to remember that the Illegal Interim Prime Minister continues to hinder the process of the Auditor Generals Office and therefore defy court orders. He has set the precedent for the rest of us. If he does not want his back yard cleaned, why should he try and clean up ours?

In the words of the Most Holy Book, " Before you take out the speck in your brothers eye, try and remove the log lodged in your own."

When asked last night, Auditor-General Eroni Vatuloka refused to comment saying the military provided the best answers to this question.

Unfortunately the military's answer seems very clear....... Their silence on the Regimental Funds abuse reveals their desire to hide the TRUTH or cover up SOMEBODY'S dirty tracks. The military has shown their true colours!

To remove corruption entirely is a HOPELESS DREAM. It will never and can never happen as long as man is left to his own devises without the help of an omnipotent GOD! The only way to have a corrupt free society is for people to be reformed and renewed from within. This can only be done when Jesus Christ truly lives and abides in a persons heart. A true Christian is one that fears God. When one has a healthy fear(reverantial awe/respect/regard/honour) of God, one has no desire to be corrupt or engage in corrupt practices.

A corrupt free society can never be a reality. What the Illegal Interim Prime Minister is looking for is a utopian society where everyone is PERFECT and does not do anything wrong.

He either refuses to see REALITY , or is DELUDED into thinking a mere mortal like himself can turn Fiji into a corruption free society.

I would like to expressly state that the CLEAN UP FIJI campaign that the Illegal Interim Regime is embarking on will only put a bandaid over what is a cancerous and malignant wound.

This clean up campaign will go on forever because when ever he removes so called "corrupt people" and puts into position his own, it will not be long before they themselves will become corrupt.

Can the Illegal Interim Prime Minister please tell the public about the corrupt practice of the missing FMF Regimental funds? It is common knowledge about the person/s responsible for it's abuse and yet the IIPM is not willing to dig into that corruption and take the person/s involved to task?

What about the murderers of the three men, Verebasaga, Rabaka & Malasebe? Why have the cases gone on for so long with no one prosecuted? Is that not a corrupt practice. If the IIPM is implicated in obstructing the course of justice, then he should be REMOVED!

"There are now revelations that the Australian and NZ governments are allegedly trying to block aid assistance and loans from international banks and other countries to Fiji.

Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry said if the moves now proposed are successful, it will have serious consequences for Fiji. Chaudhry said the interim government is working on the roadmap towards democracy and is now calling on Australia and New Zealand to stop these moves to block Fiji's progress.

Chaudhry said these travel advisories and talks being held by Australia will not benefit them at all. Meanwhile, Chaudhry adds that the interim cabinet has prepared the report for the European Union which will be forwarded to them by the end of this month. "

Just for the record Mr. Chaudhary....the New Zealand & Australian governments are taking these measures because they are unsure whether your promises for election in 2009 will be made good . Alot of promises have been made by this Illegal Interim Administration but none of them have been kept.

For instance, the three murder cases of Verebasaga, Rabaka & Malasebe are still unresolved. Justice has not been done to the families of the three murdered men. The Illegal Interim Administration is to blame for these cover ups and botch ups. Noone has been taken to task.
Just alot of cover ups and more lies.......

Then to top it off, the Illegal Interim Administration places miltary men in the top position as Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force........All they are doing is putting those men in place to save the hides of the guilty police & miltary murderers from doing jail time at Naboro Max.

They have many many other reaons why they would do this.......All the Blog Sites reveal the truth......and I'm pretty sure that the relevant New Zealand, Australian & European Union authorities are keeping tabs on whats happening in REALTIME! They can hear the real CRY of the nation of Fiji!

The expulsion of a senior New Zealnd diplomat has revealed the calibre of leadership that now leads this nation. As in the words

of Ro Teimumu " He (Bainimarama) doesn't know where he is going" , totally sums up this weird action.

Breaking ties with a traditional trading and diplomatic partner can be equated to someone severing their left hand. Without New Zealand, who sends in the second largest number of tourists per year, we are certainly doomed to a future of uncertainty.

It's already a gloomy outlook on the horizon, but this kind of one off tit for tat saga, does not augur well for us and just makes the leaders at the helm of this sinking ship, rather silly, to say the least.

Could it be that the Illegal Interim PM was highly ticked off at not being the Chief Guest for the

FRU at the JAB-Fiji game recently? Could he have felt the sting of rejection (that pricked his ever growing malignant narcissist ego) when arch rival & public enemy number 1 Michael Green had to stand up and be garlanded & give the speech? It maybe infantile behavior......but people, this man needs PRAYER big time!

See the signs of behavioural and mental disorders...... the erratic double minded decisions.......one day NZ is public enemy number 1......on the very next day, the Illegal Interim PM says that NZ is a friend and should not treat Fiji so badly by instigating sanctions.........this is the fruit of an unsound mind! Can we continue to have a deranged man lead this nation of ours?

Tevita Malasebe’s last night on earth.

"When Tevita’s mother called her son’s to dinner on that last evening, Tevita said to go ahead : “au se wilivola mada”.His mother peaked into the room to see Tevita reading his bible.

Tevita nodded off to sleep reading his bible whilst the rest of the family had dinner. At midnight, the family was awoken by knocking on the door and policemen asking to see Tevita.

In fijian the request was that they only wanted to talk to Tevita about a “small matter from long ago”: “dua ga na ka lailai”. The policemen led Tevita out of his room already handcuffed.

Tevita’s protective mother protested that he hadn’t had dinner to which the police replied: “keitou na sega ni dede”, “we won’t be long”.

Tevita’s mother requested that she come with them to the Valelevu police station and her and Tevita can walk back from Valelevu Police Station to New Town where they lived. The Police declined her a car ride saying they’d return Tevita shortly.

Tevita’s younger brother counted 8 policemen in total who came to take Tevita away. He knew something was wrong when he saw the police throw Tevita into the truck like a sack. He quickly told his mother for them to follow, I belive his own words were “au kila sa na lei vaculaki o Tevita”, “I know Tevita’s going to be beaten up”.

The already distraught mother quickly got her family ready and as the family could not hail a taxi at that time of the night, they had no choice but to walk to Valelevu Police Station. They got there an hour after Tevita was taken from home only to find the Police Station in darkness with a single policeman manning the post.

They asked him if there was anyone brought in from Newtown and the man denied it saying no one was brough in. He referred the family to check with Suva police station. If you’ve been past the Police station in Valelevu you’d see that there is a compound surrounding the station, if you go now you’ll prob still see the police barrier set up around the place.

Tevita’s distraught mother waited at the Police station with her sons and the single policeman not knowing that in the darkness behind the police station her son was being beaten to death. In the very compound behind the police station.

Some maternal instinct must’ve kicked in because she started calling out her son’s name in the hope that she’d hear a reply from the police cell maybe, only to be told off by the policeman “oi, sega ni mai na koro qo!” “Oi! This is not the village”.While his mother and two brothers waited for two hours in the police station, Tevita was being beaten up outside in the darkness behind the very same police station.

Did he hear his mother’s cries for him? One can only conclude that his mouth may have been taped so no one could hear his own painfull cries.With no one showing up at Valelevu and the policeman there not being cooperative at all, Tevita’s mother and her two sons walked back home 2 hours later, worried if they’d see Tevita again; the two sons comforting their mother that Tevita was all right, he was fit and healthy and would survive whatever beating these people gave him.

The two sons were already planning vengance on whoever was responsible.A friend of Tevita’s went for his usual early morning jog and happened to jog past the Valelevu Police station that fateful morning and he noticed three policeman outside the back of Police Station loading a body into a body bag.

Little did he know at that time that it was his friend Tevita’s body that was being loaded. He report this to the police when the death of Tevita was made known.For all we know, Tevita was beaten up from when he was loaded into the truck (8 policemen remember), then instead of being accorded a proper procedural detainment that required his presence at Valelevu Police Station recorded in the books, Tevita was taken outback in the dark outside, stripped naked or possibly down to his underwear and beaten to his death.

What he was beaten with, we may know when the trial comes to light. Whether his mouth was taped or not, only those responsible can tell us. Did he hear his mother calling for him? Did he fight back?To date 8 policeman have been questioned, including the single night watchman policeman that denied Tevita being brought to Valelevu. Did he truely not know that Tevita was outback, or was he lying through his teeth staring at the mother while he knew her son was being beaten up.

No one knows the torment Tevita’s mother went through that night, or the suffering her and her family are going through now.

I pray and hope for the Police not to ruin this investigation like the previous two cases of Nimilote Verebasaga and Sakiusa Rabaka.

I pray that this does not happen to me or a member of my family."

Today's Fiji Times reveals an article where the Illegal Interim Attourney General, Mr. A Kaiyum says:

"NZ should assist Fiji, says Khaiyum

FIJIs interim Attorney-General says if New Zealand wants to support a democratic election, it should not be imposing sanctions.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum told Radio New Zealand the recent explusion of New Zealands High Commissioner to Fiji is a separate matter and there should be no retaliatory measures."

I fail to see his reasoning. What separate matter? The IIAG is of the view that expelling a Diplomat should not be offensive to the New Zealand government. This is the view of a Government that justifies it's insane actions and yet expects others to continue to help, and turn a blind eye to what they are doing. This is only the mentality and reaction of an unstable, flawed thinking.

Australia, deems this action as very serious, so serious in fact they want to send their troops here. And yet the IIAG has the audacity to say that New Zealand must continue to support Fiji and not impose sanctions.

Christians must pray that God will give the Illegal I nterim Adminstration a SOUND, LOGICAL MIND, Because the actions they are taking seem to defy all right sense and logic!

''New Zealand needs to think about what is the long term objective...ok, we want Fiji to move towards Parliamentary democracy in holding elections in a free and fair transparency manner, so New Zealand wants to participate in that, then so New Zealand needs to review its smart sanctions or what have you.''
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum says if New Zealand encourages people not to visit Fiji, there will be a lasting economic impact on the country."

Sometimes a rogue institution such as our ILLEGAL INTERIM REGIME needs to be taught a sound moral lesson. YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TO, MR KHAIYUM!

The behaviour of this ILLEGAL INTERIM ADMINISTRATION is at it's best, WORSE than my six year old son's! HOW SAD!
