WILL PEOPLE OF CONVICTION PLEASE STAND UP!

Our nation hangs in the balance even as I blog. Heading into the sixth month.....despite pleas and cries of people on anti coup sites nothing of lasting significance has been done....yet....

As we await our redemption, the tentacles of the I I G continue to gain strong footholds in every aspect of our lives.

As bloggers, we need to constantly remind ourselves as well as the public, of the evil that has plagued our nation since 5/12.

We need to constantly remind ourselves that our democratic rights have been brutally assaulted by people that have different agendas at heart.

The 'creeping coup' as it has been termed by some, brought terror in our hearts, as month after month, the army leader continued to verbally tear at the Elected Government of the day.

It was a tactic used by the military to render powerlessness, fear & intimidation in the EG.

Our deposed PM and his cabinet were hounded like dogs......maybe the shadowy figures behind the coup thought that was apt vengence for their maltreatment in 2000. However, two wrongs
can never make things right. In Ghandi's own word's "An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind".

And blind we are, blind as a bat out of hell. With this coup culture of revenge, hatred, bitterness, & anger it seems Fiji's future is bleak to say the least.

While coup enthusiasts rave on at their new positions in Government, in the Judiciary, soon in the Police Force.......thousands of pairs of young eyes watch and absorb the goings on.

The seeds have been planted. The lesson has been taught well. In the not to distant future, a disgruntled man in the military will, like his precedecessors before him, illegally over throw yet again, another elected government.

Why will this cycle continue? Because we allowed it to be so. We have not eliminated the coup culture from it's roots. Where do the roots lie? They lie primarily in the inability of man to submit himself to authority.

According to the Bible, men must live peaceably and be under authority, for all authority is delegated by God. The first authority we come in contact with as children is parental. As we grew, we were placed under the authority of the school system, in the village under the Turaga ni Koro, in the towns and cities, under the police, town and city councils. On a national level, there is the greatest authority stemming from the President of a nation, the Prime Minister, the Cabinet and the elected members of Parliament. The Armed Forces as well as the Naval division
are all UNDER the authority of the government.

These levels of authority are designed in such a way in that when men adhere to the rules and laws of the authority, there is peace, order & safety. However this divine order of authority is many times overturned, disregarded & disobeyed by subordinates.

When authority is challenged, disobeyed, disregarded in a home, this is termed as rebellion. When authority is challenged, disobeyed, disregarded and overturned on the levels above parenta level, this is known as sedition.

The Bible regards rebellion sedition as the sin of WITCHCRAFT.

A seditious person is not born....he is made. Unjust circumstances, abuse, neglect, lack of love, misunderstanding are factors that may contribute to the life of a person and may well determine the decisons they make in the later years.

Sedition is equated with witchcraft because a seditious person desires to be in TOTAL CONTROL over a given situation or circumstance. A person that delves in witchcraft desires to
control the lives of others through demonic means. Sedition desires to control the lives of others
through over powering and over turning the authority above them.

We must realise however in this bleak scenario that the war is already won for us. The victory already ours. But the day to day battles as parents, as employees, as members of a village, a clan, a neighbourhood, a town or a city will determine whether we can route out of the lives of our children this ugly root called sedition.

If we are to destroy the coup culture in our nation, let's begin in our homes. Parents, are you seditious at work? Do you honour your religious leaders or berate them? Do you honour traffic laws or drive over the speed limit? Do you respect civic or political leaders or do you openly speak against them or speak negatively about them to your children? Food for thought indeed!

We must raise up a new generation of people that will honour all authority. We need to raise up a generation of people that have CONVICTION in their hearts that they will honour authority.

If the authority is making wrong judgements and decisions, then there are avenues by which we address the issues of faulty governance. There are the courts of law in which your case may be thrashed out in a lawful and orderly manner.

Any other manner by which authority is unlawfully challenged can be deemed seditious.
