I have been grieving for some time now.....
Early this year two men were brutally assaulted by the military. Nimolote Verebasaga & Sakiusa Rabaka both died in the hands of men who are purportedly trying to 'Clean Fiji' of Mary J smokers, Mary J pushers, gays, thieves, robbers and corruption in government.
To date investigations seem hazy, cloudy, unclear.......justice seems unlikely as evil men seek to cover up their tracks.
I grieved with the families........Fiji grieved at the horror of it all......
As the military began to help police in their bid to crack down on violent crimes and robberies in the nation, they set up base in almost every police station in the country.....the army & police working together.......
Recently, an eyewitness reported how three young men were brutally bashed and assaulted in a Police Post of a small resort community 40km out of Suva. They were stripped to their underwear, made to carry heavy iron pipes then were beaten in the process. Blood poured from their faces.
To add insult to injury, this occurred in broad daylight with the public looking on in shock and terror. This was act was carried out by the military with policemen standing by watching.
The police was, for this nation, the last bastion of hope, the last place where we could get help, protection from the thuggery of the military.....but their hands have been tied behind their backs. Their mouths sealed shut! We don't really know....maybe they are in collusion...
They say that birds of a feather love to flock together. It seems that the police are now portraying the feathers of the military, THUGGERY, BRUTALITY, MURDER.
Most recent incident, a group of Valelevu police officers in civilian clothing arrived at the doorstep of Anisa Nakuila's home on the night of Monday 4th June. They took her 31yr old son Tevita Malasebe away to question him at the Valelevu Police Station.
He never returned home alive. His mother was called in by CWM staff to identify him. She was taken to the mortuary where his battered bruised and lifeless body lay in cold death.
No chance for justice, no lawyer to speak for him, no protection, no rights.
Three now dead at the hands of the IIG. Yes they are to blame.
This incident occurred under their watch. They are much to blame as the Police. Right now, the Police are under the control of the IIG. Therefore they must take the blame.

Within six months, three dead and many other civilians brutalised. Within six months, three mothers have lost their sons......WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END!
I grieved for another mother today. As I watched Tevita's mother weeping on National TV, holding the clothes of her dead son, I could only weep with her.
To all mothers in Fiji, may our tears be not in vain. As we weep , we must pray and seek God for an answer. I know Fiji is going about their normal business of school, work & play, but underneath the facade of normalcy, lies a torn and wounded spirit, the spirit of FIJI. The spirit of Fiji lies in each citizen of this nation.
Let's not pretend anymore that nothing is happening. Let's stop pretending that everything is OK when things are not OK. Let's stop hiding behind fear of being taken up to camp for a run around or 'light torture'. Let's be about God's business of fasting, praying & showing others there is a better way to take Fiji forward and that is the way for PEACE.
PEACE however will only come when the PPRINCE OF PEACE , JESUS CHRIST, TRULY RULES & REIGNS IN OUR HEARTS! If PEACE is not within us then there is war, anger, hatred, bitterness.
Let's show the IIG that the mothers of Fiji are concerned. Let's stand up but we must do this in PEACE and not with a heart of war. Let's stand with a heart of FORGIVENESS and not hate or anger. Let's just stand up and ask the IIG that the brutality must STOP! LET'S STAND UP AND MARCH FOR PEACE!
